Will I need two turntables for turntabilism?
Recently I really got interested in Turntablism so I looked a few stuff up, a friend of mine suggested Technics 1200 turntable(Which is about 575$) and Technics SH EX1200 mixer(200$-300$) but what I'm wondering is, I will be needing a second turntable right lol? I don't really think I can afford all of that lol. Any suggestions or advices guys?
If you can’t afford it, then save up. Thats what I’m actually currently doing. And you say lol alot >_> lol.
Yes, to deejay you need two turntables.
However, these days music is played through computers and mp3 collections. One turntable can be "Virtual." I will often setup only one Turntable and let a program called Conectiv Torq on my laptop handle the other table… for party this is actually a more convenient setup because you can leave dance tracks on and only scratch vinyl for stuff that you want to.
Party setup:
- 1 Technics 1200 turntable
- m-audio torq code vinyl
- mixer
- m-audio torq mixer
- laptop with mp3 collection
- wires and mic
To master Deejaying you will eventually need two turntables, but I would DEFINITELY get this before buying the second table:

You’re gonna wanna work with digital music anyways.
Where it’s at….you’ll need two turntables and a microphone….
