Why won’t my CD player play discs burnt with a CD/DVD recorder (please, see details)?
My DENON DN-2000F MKII dual CD player won't read CDs burnt with an ASUS DRW-1608P3S DVD/CD recorder. Neither it reads discs burnt with a similar LiteOn drive. It does, however, read the ones recorded with my former ASUS CRW-5232AS CD recorder and other "CD-only" drives without problems. It seems that it won't play anything burnt by a laser meant both for DVDs and CDs??? Why? Is there any technical explanation???
There are many explanations for why you cannot read a burned cd. My $1000 Sony ES DVD player can’t read burned cds. It is because the laser is unable to focus on the smaller bumps created by a burned cd rather than a pressed one.
However, there are also many other factors if it’s not your CD player. You could be using the wrong type of disc, whether it is the chemical recording surface, or the wrong length type. You could also be burning too fast, or there might be some form of copy protection.
Take a look at my source, there is plenty of good information there.
