Why can't I hear a CD I have copied of a book on my car CD player?
It plays on my computer and it plays on my portable CD player, but not on the car CD player. Is there a special way to record so it will play in the car? Please help and thanks in advance.
Check the file format type. If it’s an MP3 file, your car player may not be new enough to be able to play it.
Wish I knew. Sometimes I’ll have problems with cd’s I’ve downloaded or copied playing in certain cd players.
Did you close your recording session, if not you will need to do that.
When you burnt your CD, it should be in Audio format. If you happened to burn it as a mp3 file format, your CD player may not recognise it. Newer Cd players can play mp3 songs which are called ‘mp3 players’. Like my car, it doesn’t play. The timer runs but no sound is heard
You have the audio information because you have computer software that copied the sound from the sound card. That works pretty good but is never the same as the original audio CD. Mostly lost is the dynamic range — the loud to soft fluctuations and this being the main characteristic LP vinyl audiophiles complain about. Enough about that, but there is so much more.
The problematic CD player is actually doing it’s job. That particular hardware is looking for the playlist before it begins looking for the audio information. Well, there is only one way to get that playlist … you have to have software that lets you edit the text for artist, author, song name — any and/or all of that information. When Mr. or Mrs. Pirate Hobbyist is ready to generate that file, the software connects to the internet to a certain domain that compares your audio text info with a huge worldwide database. If it finds similarities, it might help you fill in the text info completely, with all kinds of information. The friendly website then compacts that information and allows you to copy your new audio database to the location of your choice on your computer. Then, when you burn the CD again you can include that track info. Savy media players will display the artist and songname, sometimes the lyrics.
Nero7 is a simple to use program that accomplishes this feature. There are 100s of others that do the music database I describe.
Your CD player will or will not play the recorded CD, depending on the type of format you recorded the CD on OR your CD doesn’t support the type of CD’s. Most, if not all the newer radios will play a CD-R, CD+R, CD-RW, or CD+RW. If it is an older CD player then it doesn’t support that type of format. If you have the CD burned as an MP3 or WMA format it will not play on the CD player unless it’s specified on the radio. I would check to see if the CD player is able to support the CD you have for your listening pleasure.
