What kind of DJ Mixer do i need?
I need to know what kind of DJ mixer i need to buy. I want to play music directly from my laptop, but i want to have that option to play CD's also.
I am going to be using Virtual DJ and/or Atomix MP3.
If you have suggestions on Laptop software let me know also. But i really need to know what kind of DJ Mixer i would need to buy.
it depends on what you want to do…. If you are going to work for weddings and such i would get at least a 3 channel mixer. I have used Rane, Denon, Numark & Gemini mixers in the past. They are listed in order of quality. I would stay away from the Gemini products, i never had a mixer fail faster.
As far as ability to play cd’s as well as control VDJ Denon has a great new digital turntable out but it is rather expensive. I will include links to the mixer and turntables i personally use for exactly what you want to do.

I recently bought a set online for the computer that included a mixer and everything. It’s been working out pretty well. I would recommend something like that.
