What is the best turntable I can get with a 3 speed setting for under 300$?
I really want to start collecting vinyls, and there are many good record players I can choose from, but my grandparents are willing at any time to give me quite a few 70-80 year old albums, and I want to be able to play them. This is why I'm looking for a solid durable turntable that has great audio quality, has 33, 45 and 78 settings, and is very gentle on the records being played.
Any suggestions?
Probably the Audio Technica AT-PL-120 you might also want to take a loot at vintage used turntables available on e-bay or creig’s list…
Im sorry I don’t know of a good turntable that plays all 3 formats, I would do some research and see if there any good belt drive turntables as they are going to give you the best performance over a direct drive. Don’t forget you will also need to have a turntable with a removable headshell as you will need to separate headshells and cartridges, one for 45 and 33, and one for 78’s. 78’s need a different cartridge.
You will also need a phono preamp as this first amplifies the low level signal coming from the phono cartridge and then re-equalizes the signal recorded onto the vinyl. All records are equalized with the bass frequency’s cut and the high frequency’s boosted the phono-stage re-equalizes the signal back to flat response.
You will also need a few accessory’s, stylus force gauge, and a record cleaning system of some sort ether machine or brush and fluid.
Any other questions feel free to ask,
