What do I need if I want to buy and use a record player?
I saw this record player at a record store in the loop the other day and I really want to save up for it. Always wanted one. But I'm clueless as to what I need to do to make it work. Do I need speakers? A receiver? (I'd prefer to minimize cost). Sorry I can't help being an idiot it's my generation's fault.
wanna cheap solution thinkgeek.com has a usb turntable you can just use your computer and it’s speakers. Otherwise yes you will need stereo components, speakers and a reciever/amp.
if it is just a turntable you will need some sort of amplifier and speakers usually people get a receiver that has inputs for a turntable then you have to be sure cartridge a stylus or needle is good they are still available on ebay i bought a all in one record player it was a GE wildcat suitcase style turntable folds down speakers and amp. built in works great stylus or needle still available from Radio Shack $3.99 i paid with shipping for my Wildcat $45.00 their are other types available just look on ebay under record player i still pull out the old vinyl and listen much different sound than CDs many think it is better
