What can I do about a vibrating record player?
So I've got this old record player and whenever I try to play a record it vibrates. The actual record player doesn't vibrate, just the turntable that spins the record. Is there anything I can do about this besides get a new one? Anything I can do at home? I'm not sure if this helps but the model is BB - 1168 and it says that it was crafted by BSR.
Can’t find any info on that table. If it’s an idler wheel drive, it could be the rubber idler wheel has a flat spot from storage that’s causing the vibration. If so, you could probably find a replacement online or maybe boil it in some water and maybe restore it’s shape. Could be the motor bearings or the platter bearings need some lubrication… If it’s a belt drive, it could be the belt is stretched and it’s riding a part of the motor pulley it shouldn’t due to that…
