It was tried in the 60`s . Problem was that every bump you hit, the needle skipped, so they applied more pressure and you would destroy the record and the needle in a short time.

Here is another one. And of course it was Chrysler that brought it out first. Problem was it never worked.
45s were developed in the late 1940s more for jukeboxes, because a lot more music could be stored in a jukebox with them, then portable turntables were developed for cars, which allowed 45s to be played on the road,
