Turning off record player without taking the needle off?
When I turn my record player off, if I want to keep my spot on the song, i just keep the needle on the record. When i turn it off everything slows way down and gets deeper until it turns off.
I know why it does it, but im just wondering if it can screw anything up?
it’s not doin’ any good for either the record or the needle…as the record slows down, the needle tends to ‘wobble’; thus causin’ minute damage to the record as well as causin’ wear and tear on the needle itself…
i always use the automatic lifter on the tone arm when removin’ the needle from the playin’ surface; you don’t ’save yer place’ on the record; but it doesn’t cause any damage, and that’ more important to me…
