I bought a brand new record and it sometimes skips (in the same places) on a vintage record player.
On a new player this would not occur right?

All in the question. I have a crosley vintage record player, it is vintage but plays perfect. So it plays 78, 45, 33 1/3 RPM records. So does that mean I can play LP records on it?

I've just had a vintage record player for my birthday, and I'm trying to find a decent shop that sells a wide range of vinyls...HMV have them online, but they're really expensive, and they don't have some that I really want. Any ideas of any other places/shops/websites? Thankyou! :-)

I'm writing a novel and one of the characters has a machine that can easily be described as a small phonograph. My problem is that, being I am only in my late teens I have little, if any, knowledge on vintage record player parts.
I've looked everywhere but I can't find a proper name for the funnel-like amplifier that sends out the sound in the earliest versions of record players. Anybody know a common name for it?
Also, bonus points if u can come up with a older sounding name for the spinning top than "turntable"

I have a vintage record player from the 60's. I replace the needle a few day ago and it was working fine. My vintage records like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, etc...work fine. I bought and BRAND NEW Metallica album and it skips every few seconds as well as a BRAND NEW Deftones album. Is there something that is different about the new records??? Or is it just because the record player is old?

i am looking at a record player on ebay and befour i buy i wanted to make shure i can buy records for it still. so is there a certin type of record that would work on this?

Does anyone know of any vintage record/vinyl player stores in London or Paris that won't rip me off as a tourist? I'm looking for the non-USB type players. 33 1/3 type too

i was gonna ask mah mom if i could bid on a vintage record player on ebay, but i was wondering if all records work on every record player. and will vinyl records from hot topic work on a vintage record player? and if said record player is beteen 5 and 10 dollars and they say it works, will it work? wil it be cheap or is this person just feeling generous? thanks. and hurry, bid ends soon.

This is a bit embarrassing, please bear with me because I know nothing about this stuff. I want to buy an old vintage record player and a bunch of records, but I'm looking on ebay and it states whether the records are 33 or 45 or 78 RPM. I have no idea what this means, and how do I know which are compatible with a record player? Are they all compatible? Is one of the RPM better than another? Please help me out, thanks!!

I have a vintage record player downstairs (well my parents do) and I wanted to learn how to scratch and dj and such using it. I know that whatever records I use will get damaged, I'm ok with that
But, will it damage the record player itself by doing this?
Oh ok, so could I temporarily (without extensive knowledge about record players) switch in a non damaging needle? Or would that take a lot of equipment to do?

Vintage is just so much better. Who sells vintage record players in Los Angeles?

My vintage record player sounds funny, like it is warped. It plays normal-slow-normal-slow. If I can find someone to repair it will it be expensive? and can it even be repaired? I really miss listening to my old records.

I just bought a portable vintage record player from an antique dealer and it doesn't have a needle. I'm having a hard time finding a similar model online. It's a Zenith, and I think the model is a ZP2. I really don't know much about record players, and I think I may need a cartridge as well.
It says the model is a "ZP2"

My hobby is collecting vintage record players and 45's

I have a child's vintage record player that needs a needle for it. How do I find the type I would need so I can purchase one. There are no serial numbers.
thank you

Ok, so I really want a vintage record player, and I;ve been looking on eBay for some. I know NOTHING about them. How come some records are big and some are small? Do all records play on all record players?
I want to know everything. I need a hobby, and this seems cool. I want to collect records. Tell me everything.

I really want to get a vintage record player and start looking for some records to go with it. Where would be a good place to start and some basic things to know about maintenance and records?

so basically the story was like this i was a friend of mine and like i had to stay out coz they were recording a session and i see this young kid DJ-ing on this record player look like one of the FISHER PRICE VINTAGE RECORD PLAYER 'VINYL'

but his wasnt like the fisher price one it was like an old school seasme street ones this young kid had it with a cookie monster which was pretty sick.

so yeah heres my question

will the fisher price #825 record player play vinyl records like DJ's do 12'inch vinly records.

thanks for answering looking forward.

should I get a vintage record player or a new one? and how much will a solid record player run me?
