I'm looking for a record player that plays 45's and 33's. It must have a headphone jack. I would like it to be portable as well and have built in speakers. What would you recommend? I want good sound and good quality as well. Thank you! Also it should be cheap as well!

I have an old fisher turntable/ cassete player, im guessing from the late 70's, and i dont know how to connect it to speakers, its only outputs are a speaker R and L and and auxilery R and L i have a reciever with a phono input and a pair of speakers that use speaker wire, can anyone tell me how to hook this thing up? 10 points to the best answer

I have one of those Crosley record player that does not have a line out (but for some reason has a line in....). Since the speakers on this thing are pretty weak, I want to connect them to my surround sound system (which I'm using as a 2 channel system right now). The receiver has multiple inputs in the form of RCA jacks. So I was thinking of 2 options:

1. I can connect the speaker wires in the Crosley to a set of RCA output jacks (+/- wires) and then just use an RCA connector between the Crosley and the receiver.. doing this, I'm concerned about feeding the speaker level input to a line-level input (on the receiver)... will this kill my receiver or speakers?? (receiver/speakers ~100 watt/channel @ 8 ohms).

2. I can catch the Crosley signal before it goes to its internal amp and then to the speakers and attach the RCA at that point... problem here is, I have no idea where that amp is.. there is a drum on the volume control that has wires going out of it in the form of 2 + wires and 2 - wires (on the circuit board where they connect it says R, L, G (ground), R, L, SW)... so I'm thinking those wires are already the converted signal (amplified)... is the drum on the connected to the volume control the amp?? I don't see anything else that could be... everything else is circuit boards..

let me know if you can provide any info.. the receiver is a Sony 100 wpc 8ohm, speakers are 125 watt/8ohm and the record player is a Crosley CR-66

Thanks!

Okay, so i have a record player that is probably from the late 70s early 80s. I bought it about 4 years ago and it worked great then. I stopped using it for a few years and i recently bought a bunch of vinyls and now when it plays some times the sound is distorted in one speaker and sometimes in the other. I originally thought it was the speakers but its isn't because sometimes when i move it slightly they will both work fine. So i have no idea what the problem is or how to fix it.

I have purchased an old HMV Viking record player and have no idea how to get the record player working. There is power to the turntable and the radio works, just can't get the turntable to turn. If you touch the stylus you can here the crackle through the speakers so the stylus is picking up the sound. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Andrew

When hooking a cassette player to the pc to record songs onto the recorder on the pc and the music sounds like if it was played through small speakers of a portable cd-cassette payer. I have a Audio editor on my pc, can you fix the recording music sound like if it was on a stereo

I am not I think very up to date with new technology. It seems as though we are invited to part with money for devices to do all sorts of things I wouldn't find at all useful. I have been making an effort recently for my daughter's sake, to get interested. I would like some type of system where I could save music tracks we especially like and have them played as a shuffle. I have a computer a fairly up to date computer and CD player, and the sort of MP3 player that looks as though ti's fallen out of a cracker that someone gave to us and has stopped working. Battery? who knows.. I know an ipod with nifty little speakers would do this but no-one in our house will be buying one of those anytime soon! ( I do see the point of those, I think they're a beautiful piece of technology) Is there any other way we could do this? Also had a thought about an inexpensive portable recording device to record my daughter playing the piano. It could be useful for recording notes to myself and help me getting down to writing letters too. Any suggestions?

I'm looking for a whole new set up, except for the record player, for under 0. I have looked at Onkyo's Home Theater systems (sr600 and sr800) but I have yet to hear of the quality of sound for playing vinyl. Home theater systems may be easier but I am not opposed to a separate receiver and speakers.

I listen to mostly records but I also frequently listen to my iPod and sometimes CD's and movies. Also if it is of any help, I listen to mostly folk and indie rock.

Any suggestions??

My brother is going to DJ at my party, but I'm not sure how to set it up exactly, we have a stereo system but it's inside (party's outside), two large speakers, a record player, laptop, smallll boombox, mp3 player...is there anything else I need, that i could get for cheap? I don't really know how the set up works and all, would be really thankful if someone could explain and help! thanks!!

Ion power play LP USB-powered vinyl to MP3 turntable speaker sound?
I bought the Ion power play LP USB-powered vinyl to MP3 turntable and it works fine and I've got it to play through the speakers on my computer (by adjusting the microphone default settings on my computer. My normal speakers are also set to default and are used when I play records) however it stills plays through the speakers on the turntable so I have got two sounds playing at different volumes and I was just wondering if anyone knew how to turn the sound on the record player off? Its annoying to have the background noise from the record player too. The sound would appear to be coming from the base of the tonearm. The speaker isn't listed in the little book I got with it though listing the different parts. I can live with it if I can get the sound turned off but obviously this would be better and allow me to enjoy the music fully.

Along with his record player. Except it used to belong to this huge big hi-fi unit, so I need an amplifier and speakers for it to play. But today I was bored and got it out, and plugged it in just to see if it actually works. I played some Blondie, and there was sound coming out but obviously because it doesn’t have built in speakers or an amp, it was reeeeally quiet. But anyway, I took it off and started listening to another vinyl but this time the needle like, caught on the record, and it wouldn’t spin.

Since I have NO clue about record players and vinyl, can someone tell me if this means I have to get a new stylus/needle? And also, what can I do about, when the record is playing and it gets to the end, my needle just like, drags across the record! I’m afraid it will scratch it! How can I stop this from happening?

I want to buy a good record player for some records I bought. I found this one online and it looked pretty good (but I don't know much about record players at all).

Can I play all sizes of records on a standard record player? (7, 10, and 12 inch).

Thank you!
If you knew what a record was?
......vinyl? Your question doesn't make sense.....
I'm looking for a record player (not a turntable. I don't have speakers for a turntable) and want to know what I should be looking for.

I'm looking for a home audio amplifier that I can use for my record player and dvd player.

Whats the best out there for under 0.
No speakers are needed

My amazing husband bought me what I've always wanted- a record player. I went out and bought some of my favorite records- and at a steal. So I go home to play them, and I can barely hear the music. I have to stand right there just to hear any noise. So what speakers do I need, and where can I find them? The model number is 304. 91810 251, it being Sears Roebuck. Thanks!
I gave you the model number and type. what more do you need? obviously, you didn't read the question lol.

I have a Jensen JTA-450 and it has the two audio RCA ports in the back. The problem I am facing is that my speakers have the + and - signs for the speaker wire.

So my question is what do I need to get it to play? I wanted to stay away from a reciever since I don't have that much space. Is there an amplifier which is smaller that I could use? And then from there is there and RCA converter?

My parents had this old record player in the 80's, but it wasn't just a record player. It was this large piece of furniture. It was wood, and the was rectangular, and had 3 sections. The two end sections were speakers and the middle section would play records and 45's and so on. So, this huge piece of furniture had a fla surface on top like a table, but to access the record part, you could open the "lid" in the middle. Anyways, this thing was hideous, but at the time, it was like the "in" thing to have. As a 50th birthday surprise for my mom I am doing a vintage party and would love to find one of these. I kept trying to google but cannot find a picture of it...If I knew the name of the item that would really help. Thanks!!

I have just purchased a used record player, along with a few new vinyls. When I plugged it into my amp and began to play the record, after a few minutes, the sound became very scratchy and unclear. I have made sure all the plugs are plugged FULLY in, I just purchased a new cartridge and the sounds is still scratchy. I have played music on the amp and speakers from my computer, and it sounds fine.

No need for USB or anything fancy, strictly for playing the norm 33, 45, 78- anything BUT CROSSLEY they suck a** we've had two now- never again! we want a high quality record player that we can hook up sweet speakers to .any suggestions? price range we're looking at is 100-350
Also any suggestions for compatible speakers for whichever player you recommend would be more than appreciated!

Alright, so I am a 14 year old who want a good turntable. Honestly, I know nothing about buying record players/turntables. I have this one at the moment. http://www.amazon.com/Crosley-Radio-CR6005A-MA-Turntable-Mahogany/dp/B002N60HES/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1291083706&sr=8-15. I don't know the difference between usb and not usb, I want to also buy speakers with them and I also don't know anything about that. I was thinking about some acoustimass 3 bose, but I am not sure if that is for record players. Please advise me on what I should get. Thanks!

I found a old westinghouse stereophonic high fidelity record player its a portable record player and the speakers attach to the sides ,its really kinda cool .must have been really bad ass back in the day lol. The Model # is 56 acs 2 if anyone could tell me what year theses were made it would be cool. o yeah it sounds pretty damn good! i was very shocked. thanks for any help!

I have one of those piece of crap Crosley record players that, for some reason, can play cassette tapes, CDs, and has a radio, but no stupid output on the player. So, the only speakers it uses are the ones in the player. I've tried recording using a microphone, but no matter how I mix it, or how much tweaking, it still sounds like crap. How should I go about recording a vinyl to MP3?
Is there any method that doesn't involve getting a new one?

i want an old school record player

and i want to know, apart from the obvious, what other things like leads, what types of speakers etc, would i need to make it work?

I recently purchased an EMERSON antique record player (cabinet) that still works very well but the speakers are extremely quiet. I was wondering if replacing the speakers with newer ones would help improve the volume?

I'm interested in getting a record player to play my vinyls on.

I don't know anything about this, what exactly do I need? A turntable, speakers, and an amplifier? Is there any type of record player that has all this built in? Do portable ones need these attachments?

What are some decent, cheap brands/types that I can look for?

Please, educate me!
