Could anyone tell me more about the Serenade doll made in the 1960's. I believe she stands about 12" to 18". She has blonde hair that I think was in a ponytail. She came with a pink record player and a 45 record. She had a built in speaker and used a Dvolt battery. I also believe the doll was made by mattel. Her head was a soft vinyl and her body was hard plastic.
I was looking at buying a record player for my husband. The brand is "olympic bsr" found it at a store but it has no needle for the turntable. How much would it be to buy a needle and do i need to look for a specific type of needle or are they all the same? It plays 78, 45, and 33 if that makes a difference! As you can tell I don't know much about record players!! I dont even know if Olympic is a good brand :\ If you have any advice that would be GREAT! Thanks a ton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does it matter if they're 7" or 12"?
I have acquired a few old 78rpm records. Now, i have a record player that can play at the rate of 78, but it seems there is a problem with a few of the records. The record just sounds sped up, just by a bit, but it makes the song sound high-pitched, and annoying. I am wondering if this is a fault of the record, or just that some records are too fast for modern players?
I also have another question concerning records. I very recently got another record, which unfortunately has been cracked (The label is Coral, which seems to create VERY easily brake-able records). The crack doesn't affect play much, except for the occasional "pop". Now, my question is, at the beginning of the song (this will be difficult to explain), the music starts, then when the singers come in, their voices are contorted in a strange echo-y, and fuzzy way, only for the one beginning line, then the rest of the song is normal. My guess would be dirt, or something similar causing this, for i have yet to acquire a cleaner. But i just wanted to know if it was (again) the record itself.
I hope all that made sense, i try to explain best i can. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :]
I just bought a portable vintage record player from an antique dealer and it doesn't have a needle. I'm having a hard time finding a similar model online. It's a Zenith, and I think the model is a ZP2. I really don't know much about record players, and I think I may need a cartridge as well.
It says the model is a "ZP2"
I've been looking for this song for 15 years, and I fianlly found an old 70's vinyl. It's the smaller kind if that makes a difference. The song is Andre Marie Tela's "Je vais a Yaounde". Anyway I have no way to play it, and instead of buying a vinyl record player, I'd rather have a digital copy or on CD, which is actually legal, if you have the original. Anyway is there anywhere I can go, like the Musical Version of Office Max? I live in San Francisco,CA.
it's so old, that even ALL the "Google" sites they gave me couldn't match my model number. Any suggestions?
My mother is very hard to shop for. Mainly because throughout the year if I see something that she would like, I just buy it for her and give it to her. It doesn't have to be for a special occasion or holiday, I just enjoy shopping for other people.
Well, with Mother's Day on Sunday (three days!) I haven't bought or found anything that I think she would like. I flat out asked her "What do you want? What do you need?". And all she said was "Anything you buy me I will love it." Thanks Mom!
So far this year I have bought her: shoes, clothes for work, clothes for after-work, pajamas, slippers, a purse, a change purse, a wallet, candles, bath & body giftsets, perfume, vanilla lotion and body sprays that she likes, meals at her favorite restaurants, dvds, cds, a record player so that she can finally play her vintage records from high school in the '70s...What is there left to buy??
So, any suggestions?
I have a Record Player/AM Radio.Portable and Mains..The only name I can find is "Royal"..does any one have any Idea who makes this phono..thanks..
I'm looking for something like an "MP3 player" that can play any speeds on a song-I had a dream of hearing some Gn'R songs a touch slower & it sounded so awesome!-(just like an oldie band doing the original)
thanks-anyways 33 was the speed I listened to records back in the 70's & 80's as a kid.
Okay so a few years back we bought a new record player... which is automatic and plays 6" and 12" records. I just bought a 7" record from one of my favorite artists: Ratatat. Im pretty stoked to get it, the LP is coming out on Vinyl only so it should be pretty exclusive. anyways im worried that my record player will not play the beginning of the song... :-/ im young and not too knowledgeable with record players either but i know how to operate it. it has a Stop, Start, and Cue button (what is cue??). i want to hear the whole record... not just as if it were a 6 inch... HELP...there's a switch that lets me switch to either 6" or 12" and it automatically goes to that spot and drops to start playing.
I am trying to hook up my dvd player to my dvd recorder and I can't get it to work! I already tried hooking the dvd player "out" to the recorder "in" and the recorder "out" to the tv's "in" but when I push play on the dvd player and record on the dvd player, it says "no signal". Please help! I'm getting so frustrated!
I believe Rakaa is the first dude rapping
The lyrics are exactly like this
"I work the angle sharp and percise, dilated peoples so you better build twice"
the lyrics I put up is actually the chorus
I think it is not Rakaa
I have an antique "AM-FM 8-Track Stereophonic System" sold by JCPenney. It is a beautiful piece of wooden furniture that includes a radio, a record player and 2 speakers. I have no idea when it was manufactured and how much it is worth. Also, should I sell it as is or refinish the wood first?
I had a Samsung DVD player / recorder but it got screwed IDK why!!! never put a clone disc in it, only use it for recording @ Samsung they told me it was the loader and the laser system that records (cause it didn't record anymore but still was able to play discs) So, I bought a new DVD Recorder / Player, its LG, it was cheaper than have the other change all the laser and recording hardware and I lend the "messed one" to a friend who's having a bit of $$$ trouble, so his kid could watch some movies this vacation. My question is: Will play in my brand new LG DVD Recorder DVD-R discs that I recorded in the Samsung player mess it, cause I still don't know what messed the other recorder and I'm sure I don't wanna mess the new DVD player / rec. BTW: The discs I'm talking about are finalized but I don't have other player that takes DVD-R discs other than the new recorder and I know I can ask my friend for the Samsung but I don't wanna be an indian giver (WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO NATIVE-US)
I got an old record player at a garage sale today for very, VERY cheap. I checked it out and it seems only a few things need to be replaced. It is missing the needle and there is a small break in the actual turntable(the piece is still there). I was just wondering how much these things would cost for a "console" record player. Where would I take it to get repaired? It's a Magnavox but I don't know if they still have Magnavox speciality shops anymore?
Here is a picture of the record player if that helps any? http://static.flickr.com/80/283080914_5f4c343190.jpg?v=0
I have the oroginal vinyl of led-zeplen's "stairway to heaven" They said if you play the song completely backwards you can get these clearly, but on the computer they are distorted. Is it possibley to play vinyl's backwards?:

Looking for a red and white record player from 1970"s it was unique you could carry it while the record was playing the record slid inside and would Begin to play.Does anyone know this record player? Looking to buy.
I recently bought records, and now am looking to buy a record player, but i noticed they say things like, "plays 33,45,78 rpms" what do those numbers mean? and how do i know which record is which number? i looked all over the record to see if it displayed the number but didnt find anything. Are there record players that play every kind? if not, do i need different record players to play different records?

I have an old thicker annie get your gun soundtrack record and I don't know what type of record player I should get to play it.
I have an "Annie get your gun" soundtrack set.
there is one song per side on the records maybe about 6 records in the book. And the records are about, a little less then a 1/4" thick. Thanks for everyone's help this is really helping. .. more advice would be great!
This also means the phono portion does not work (everything else does). It's an old Maganavox.
It appears when I push the "Phono" function. Tape and CD/TV work fine. When I put the LP on top and bring the needle over, however, it still doesn't move. (Add remains on the screen)
