I have one of those VCR/DVD players...today I recorded a tv program to a DVD-R and dubbed a VHS to a DVD....after I was done, I made sure both played in the DVD part of the player....which they did. I am mailing these to my husband who is overseas...so I decided to try quick and see if they would play in the portable dvd player because he will be watching them on one...and they didn't work! What is the problem and is there a way to fix it? Thank you for your help!
I recorded a friends MPEG video onto a DVD-R disc in AVI format, but it won't play on a portable DVD player, why is that?
My kids have video cameras. One is a Vidster, one is a VideoNow brand camera. Neither take very high quality pictures, but my kids like them. I also have a Dazzle video converter to put my own Hi-8 videos onto my PCs for editing. Yay! What fun! Down load it to YouTube! All of these products and their software (for editing etc.) make .avi videos. That is just fine.
The problem is this: My kids want to make DVDs that will work in their grandparents, and cousins and friends standard (cheap) DVD players. I thought I could solve the problem with my Panasonic DVD recorder. I ran the .avi signal though the Panasonic and it recorded a DVD for me. Lovely. Problem: The DVD made doesn’t work on any other deck than the one it was recorded on, not the in-car DVD players, the portable DVD player, the . cheapie in my daughter’s room, not my parents or my in-laws.
I don’t want to buy any more electronics. All I want is a (cheap or free) app that will convert .avi to a universal DVD format.
I recently made a DVD of our daughter for my husband who is overseas. he got it in his care package but it will not play on his laptop. It is a DVD+R and it was recorded from our video camera to a dvd burner. The disk will play fine on the dvd player attached to the tv but will not play on the laptop or the portable dvd player. the portable dvd player is a GPX. Please help. I would love for him to be able to see his daughter.
Please help me...I am way behind the curve on my tech knowledge. Now that VCRs are no longer the standard..How do I go about recording a television program to send to my mom in California.
Is there such a thing as DVD recorder? Please tell me what equipment I need to buy and approx what is the cost. I want to record a few programs from Direct TV connection that my mother can watch on a plane using her portable DVD player
Jeez I have no idea what you just said. By the way my pc can only be used for work purposes...So I can do a tv card. Isnt there another option? Something to buy for the television that records off my direct TV connection
Sorry I meant "can't" buy a tv card
I can watch the recorded program on the DVD in the DVD recorder itself, but for example, the DVD will not play in my portable DVD player or Xbox or my other regular DVD player? Any ideas on why?
I was hoping that the DVDS would then be playable on both a portable DVD player and a Denon S-301. My budget is about 0 but price is not the deciding factor.
I have an Apev PD480 portable dvd player and it will not play recorded dvd's anyone know why or what I can do to get it to work on them.
I recorded a home video onto a DVD disc using a DVD video recorder. The DVD plays choppy in a portable DVD player and in my computer. It only plays smoothly in two DVD players, one including the one I used to record it with. So what's the problem?
Oh, and it won't play at all in another one, It says "NO DISC."
I have Old TV, Converter Box, Portable DVD Player, VCR, and WII. I want to be able to watch tv, watch movies (dvd/vcr), and play wii. I won't do anything fancy like watch & record. I will only watch. How can I connect them, so I won't have to keep reconnecting them? Right now, only tv, converter box, and wii are connected.
I checked my tv etc and here is what I found on them...
(Old TV)
- Made by Mitsubishi
- Has 2 A/V Inputs, 2 A/V Outputs, 1 VHF/UHP Ant A, and 1 VHF/UHP Ant B
(Converter Box)
- Made by RCA
- Has 1 Antenna RF In, 1 TV RF Out, 1 A/V Out
(Portable DVD Player)
- Made by Audiovox
- Has 1 A/V Out (but only 1 yellow hole and no cable for it)
(VCR)
- Made by JVC
- Has 1 CH3-CH4 Switch, 1 A/V Out, 1 Ant In, 1 RF Out in the back
- Has 3 holes on the front saying 'Video (mono) L - Audio - R
Will this information help?
Okay, my friend and I (who both love Avatar: The last Airbender) are going to a space camp and it will be a long drive and I was thinking since I have a portable DVD player (Polaroid PDM-0714) and no DVD burner. HEY! Why not record Avatar onto a DVD-RW and play it on there! Well, it says Can't read DVD or something like that. Any Ideas? Maybe I need to do DVD-Rs? Even any guesses and Maybe you didn't ......................, are accepted. Anyway. TIA!Thanks In Advance!
I'm converting our garate into a work-out room. I like to watch TV while I'm on the machines, and I'd like to be able to watch DVDs as well. I want to watch TV shows, but I don't want to run another cable box and tivo back there. I do have tivo in the house. So, I was thinking of a) putting a computer in the garage and transfering shows from tivo to the computer and mounting a monitor to the wall, or b) finding a portable digital video player that I could transfer tivo files to, but it needs a big enough screen (haven't found one yet), or c) getting a TV/VCR and just putting the tivo records on vhs tapes (we have a portable dvd player I could hook up to the TV if need be). I'm leaning towards the computer, then I could also put all my music on the computer and listen while working out. I culd download other workout videos, etc. So, which would you recomend, and do you have any other ideas? Thanks!
I know about pocket dish. I wanted something that doesn't have a screen and can connect to a portable dvd player.
I want to watch what my camcorder is recording or review clips on a separate screen. Can a portable DVD player do even if there is no clear video input?
For instance, rather than buying a new CD deck for my car, would it be smarter to just buy a portable DVD player, and record my music to DVD (in order to hold much more songs per disc). Do most portable DVD systems play audio-only discs? or am i way off track? lol
