Hi!

I have a general electric stereo, phonograph, 8 track system. Now, the volume works, but it doesn't work correctly.

When I pop the on and off knob out, which is also the volume knob, I receive a lot of static and "pop" from the speaker. Only one speaker seems to be having any sound. Sometimes when I use the stereo both speakers work. This tells me both speakers work. But when I use the phonograhp or record player, it mutes the left side speaker.

This system is about 37 years old. It's clean inside and out, the record player works fine. The only problem is the volume.

That's as much information as I can provide.

Thank you in advance!

For a project at school, Doing a project about phonographs and to be honest, if anyone can give a easy description of what a phonograph is and how it contributed to the 20's, that will be appreciated

Does the phonograph (music box) in the Zen Garden in PvZ a one-time use thing, or does it last forever?
What does having a supply of fertilizer have to do with the phonograph?

I have a 1946 RCA Phonograph, as the title states, and I am looking to sell it. It is in gorgeous condition. It is the boston Ed. everything works, radio, lights, record player, everything. I am looking to sell it, and know absolutely nothing about antiques, and was wondering what ballpark I should be in with the price.

y should the phonograph be inducted in the hall of fame?
y is it so important?

im sure there is many, so list some for me please
Thomas Edison's phonograph.

Assume that you have the best phonograph player in the world, as well as the best CD player in the world. They are both perfectly balanced, calibrated and all that fancy stuff and they are hooked up to the best stereo in the world. What will sound better, the record player playing a brand new LP, or the same recording on CD?

If I can find a pattern or see an old photograph with the grill on the c.1915 floor phonograph, I can make one.

After my father, who was a former square dance/round dance caller, passed away my mother asked me to find out what his old phonograph/speaker system and collection of 45 RPM square dance/round dance records were worth and how to go about selling them. Many of the records have the dance cues as well. I don't know whether they would be classified as collectibles or not.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I have a phonograph that has been giving me trouble lately. Right now the turntable is working fine, but it's the arm that is not setting the needle down on the record. Normally, I just push start and it will move the arm over and set the needle down at the first track. Now it moves over but not down. Any ideas on what's wrong with it?

how did the phonograph affect the industrial revolution?

I have removed the bottom of the phonograph twice. I can see a bit of the belt but can't get in there to change it, so I figure I must actually access it from above, not below. But how? I can't get the turntable off and don't want to break anything. Thank you!
I pulled and pulled on the turntable but couldn't get it to come off. I didn't see any screw in the middle at the spindle or anything. I even tried to pry it off with a screwdriver---no luck. How the heck do I get to this thing? Yikes!

I currently have the RCA cable w/ 1/4" adapter going from the preamp into the 1/4" input located on the back of the computer tower, but no sound is coming out of the computer speakers. Do I need a special driver to recognize the phonograph?

What machines do we have today that replace or improve Thomas Edison's phonograph?
im sure there is many, so list some for me please

Its about 5.5 ft long with phonograph and radio, wooden, very nice condiiton. Is there a web site or somewhere I can go for info. Thank you in advance for your answers.

With the advent of nostalgic stereos with a phonograph machines, how do you clean them so they can sound better? I don't so much mind , cd the Ipods, but I kinda like to go low tech every now and agains. Sounds strange, don't it. lol

I would love to clean the grill cloth on my 1914 Symphonola phonograph. It has a beautifully carved mahogany case in mint condition. The grill cloth is soiled and stained. The slight stains look like old water stains. The vintage fabric is almost imposible to find and I would love to preserve the original. Any suggestions?

The radio part and cassette parts of the unit work fine. The turntable only makes a small whirring sound when I flip it on. How can I get it to work? Does anyone know about the inner workings of a phonograph player? Thanks!

What was the phonograph and why would someone want to buy it?
