We have a 1966 Chevy truck and their is a antique car show coming this weekend. I was wondering what are some good classic/60's songs that i can put on my ipod and plug into the radio so we can play it at the car show?
Thanks!
Help, I am looking for a portable mp3 player to play in my car, since all I have in my car right now is a cassette player, and considering it s a new car and all, I dont really want to be messing with its wiring and stuff.I have tried to record my mp3s to cassettes, but its just too cumbersome and time consuming these days, not to mention the additional costs of having to buy batteries, recording cassetes, and my cassette recorder suddenly started playing everything I recorded twice as fast , it stopped recording properly and I dont know why.
I am currently looking for a player that can play mp3s from my computer in my car. Any suggestions ?
I m really clueless about these things, do i get an mp3 player, an Ipod, or a handphone with alll the mp3 and camera features inside ?
How much issit gonna cost and how effective will the sound quality be produced ?
plus, issit safe to be having the player on while driving, and can i create playlists like you do with winamp or a thumb drive ?
thx
I am not I think very up to date with new technology. It seems as though we are invited to part with money for devices to do all sorts of things I wouldn't find at all useful. I have been making an effort recently for my daughter's sake, to get interested. I would like some type of system where I could save music tracks we especially like and have them played as a shuffle. I have a computer a fairly up to date computer and CD player, and the sort of MP3 player that looks as though ti's fallen out of a cracker that someone gave to us and has stopped working. Battery? who knows.. I know an ipod with nifty little speakers would do this but no-one in our house will be buying one of those anytime soon! ( I do see the point of those, I think they're a beautiful piece of technology) Is there any other way we could do this? Also had a thought about an inexpensive portable recording device to record my daughter playing the piano. It could be useful for recording notes to myself and help me getting down to writing letters too. Any suggestions?
I'm looking for a whole new set up, except for the record player, for under 0. I have looked at Onkyo's Home Theater systems (sr600 and sr800) but I have yet to hear of the quality of sound for playing vinyl. Home theater systems may be easier but I am not opposed to a separate receiver and speakers.
I listen to mostly records but I also frequently listen to my iPod and sometimes CD's and movies. Also if it is of any help, I listen to mostly folk and indie rock.
Any suggestions??
my dad has a bunch of old records that he has collected but he can't listen to them because he record player broke so for Christmas as a surprise I was going to try and transfer them all to cds so he could put them on his ipod or play them in his car. I get the basics of how to do it but it's kinda confusing me. Do I need a turntable to do this or can any record player work? If I can use a record player, what kind of plug does it need to have for it to be able to plug into my laptop? My computer has a cd burner, that much I know but I'm not sure what kind of sound card it has if it has one at all. What kind of cable do I need to connect the record player to my laptop and I heard I would need some sort of pre-amp too but is this true? And lastly what type of computer program is good for recording music like this and converting it to mp3 format? Thanks for any help you guys can give me, I really appreciate it.

Are they using a laptop, desktop, or iPad?
CD Player or iPod? Or, god forbid, are they still using record players or tape cassettes?
How up-to-date are they on their technology?
Hmm, I'm not sure what class has to do with rather or not you use an ereader.
@cathrl - yes it does.
If it doesn't apply - ignore, or just say so.
im planing to buy one ... and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations .... id love a vintage mix with modern look (or just any kind of look really as long as it's good) and of course good sound quality
i already have an ipod you narrow minded dumbasses .... i want a record player
If not anyway to download the video and put it on my mp3 player it plays videos as well. They have some videos on there where the songs are out of print. No its not an iPod so I can use all types of formats. Thanks to all in advance.

I am unsure how to record straight from an internet radio website onto my laptop to transfer to my ipod. Are there any good free programs that I should use? or is it possible to do it without a program?
Thanks
* I meant iPhone
and it seems that each technology is actually WORSE!!!
examples:
I have 250 CD's. 200 plus have scratches and dont play right..you have to get up and do something about it.
I have 1,000 Vinyl 45 records dating from the 20's to 2007. about 2 of them are not playable. maybe 10 have scratches but continue to play without you getting up and doin something.
ALL OF MY CASSETTES WORK. ALL. A friend of mine brought her 8 tracks and player over...all worked fine.
And at the end of the cassette era they had just put out some players where you could seek, find and go to whatever song you wanted on either side of the cassette in almost the same time that a CD could....sigh..
DVD's?? HAHAHAHAHAH....most players have proeblems..and the disks are easily scratched.
Beta was awesome then VHS came out....never had a problem with any VHS player OR tape...
My records sound better to me and my freinds than CD's......
I do admit the picture quality of a DVD is better....
My question is:
Are we getting screwed?
ok the IPOD does rock...lol...love that lil thing...thanks Tab..
wanting to be retro? i basically like anything and everything from the mid 50's to the early 90's. when i get a car, i wanna get something like a 60's beetle. i wanna get a 70's wardrobe and i wanna change my hair. i like retro fashion. i love elvis music. i love back to the future and most 80's films. i've forbidden myself from using my ipod and computer for a period of time until now of course. i watched my television very limitly. i read the news every single morning. i bought an antique radio which was my only entertainment along with the newspaper. it's just too bad that i was born in '93.
what other things can i do?
I'm interested in getting a mp3/portable media center. I currently have a samsung yh-999 but it's too big and too difficult to get videos on it. (Windows media player takes too long to convert). I was looking to get a new unit, does anybody have any suggestions other than an Ipod? I like the way you can record off TV from the archos series, but I'm also looking for something that has decent content for me to download off the interenet. Kind of like what Itunes does for the ipod. Any suggestions?
I'm not looking for any multi-thousand dollar turntables or DJ equipment...I just want to play all these old records that my parents have in boxes.
Are there still decent new ones you can buy?
Or should I look for a used one?
Please only answer if you are an audiophile or you actually know!
Answers telling me to 'go get an ipod' are not appreciated!
probably an Ipod.
That'd be pretty cool. Fully charged, loaded with all songs of all genres.
though It'd probably look like a huge antique radio by then.
tell me about yours
I have a ton of vinyl records and would like to be able to put them onto my computer so I can transfer them to an iPod or a Zune so I can listen to them. How do you get music off of vinyl and onto a computer in Mp3 format? I have a record player and a computer, but no idea how to link the 2. Suggestions?
i collect old vinyl records, so far i have 270 now. but ive never been able to play them, but i didn't really need to, cause i have all the songs on my ipod. but ive been tempted to hear the music from the original thing itself.
I'm wondering how I can connect an iPod to a DJ mixer. would I just use an 1/8 inch to RCA cord or is there some other way? I'm just looking to get the best quality
I really love record players and vintage stuff. And i want to get a record player and some good records. Are there any places you know of?
i love old stuff and record players.
do u know if the record converters (convert song on record to a song on a ipod/mp3) really work?
I have found the Belkin Tunetalk for the ipod which makes the ipod very desirable, but people say the battery wears out after a year.
Is there anything for the zen or zune that give them the ability to record?
I'm a musician, and would like to be able to record lessons so I can listen to them later, but would like the ease of a digital file (as opposed to a minidisc, or tape recorder).
I want to watch Lost on my iPod, and am thinking about using screen recording software to record the episodes off of ABC's episode player. Is this legal? I know it'd be legal to record off a tv.
