I found an box full of old music records in great condition, where can I find out how much they are worth? I am looking to sell them on ebay or something. Any suggestions?
I'm looking to purchase a record player and I'm not sure as to what I should be looking for exactly.
For instance, I would like an older one, but will any type of speakers work with an older one? If not, where can I acquire speakers for it?
Also, are there any brands that would be recommended? And, where should I look for one? Ebay? Thrift stores?
And would you recommend getting a newer one as opposed to a vintage one?
Thank you!
I checked on ebay and there doesn't seem to be a big selection there, or on amazon. I'd like to find an antique, but a reproduction would be good too for the reliablity. I don't want one with the cd player and tape deck built in, that's kind of tacky and cheap. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks, but I checked ebay, i'm asking if anyone knows of a good place besides ebay.
I did the standard internet search, saw that site. I am in the U.S. Thanks for your help though.
When I was a kid, me and my sisiter had this red record player called "Robot Tunes". I think it may have been from Fisher Price, but I cant seem to find it ANYWHERE. Not online, not in vintage toystores, or ebay.
Anyone ever hear of this or know where I might find one?
My Dad has an old vinyl record player up in our attic that he said yesterday has needed a new needle for years. I was hoping someone could tell me where to buy one, and if I need to know the specifics of the needle/player.
I can't buy on eBay which was my first choice as I don't have a credit card of my own and would have to use my father's account instead which would wreck the surprise.
Does anyone know of somewhere online that I can order a record needle using my Laser Card and that would deliver to Ireland? And again, if I need to find out anything specific about the needle: size/manufacturer/ etc?
Thanks
I found an old Sesame Street Vinyl at Goodwill the other day and bought it because of its 99 cent price sticker. I was wondering if I could play it on any record player or if there is a specific type that is best. It says on the bottom that Stereo Record Players are best, as opposed to Mono Record Players. I was looking on Ebay at record players and am a novice to it all. So, any answer will be appreciated. Thanks.
anyone know where i can buy some old, antique, vintage record players/phonographs? i check amazon and ebay but a lot of them there are not original record players. they are more modernized record players but they are dressed up to look old but i want an actual record player from a long time ago... anyone know where i can buy these, that still work too??

For Christmas in 1966 I got this record player & a whole bunch of record & film strip sets. It played the film strip as it played the record. I can't remember the name of it. I had the story of Persephone & the Pomegranite, A spanish one with the months of the year, Peer Gynt & many more.
Thank-you. I found it. It turns out it was 33 1/3 RPM's. http://search.ebay.com/show-n-tell_W0QQfnuZ1QQfsooZ1QQfsopZ3QQsatitleZshowQ20Q27nQ20tellQQxpufuZx

And here is the info that went with it when I purchased it on eBay:
"It features an elegant design, in rubber wood with a satin finish and a hinged lid, so that the record player can be closed when not in use. With an incredible sound from the built-in amplifier, and full-spectrum speaker, this record player can play 33, 45, and 78 RPM records.
Features
Finishing material: Satin finish rubber wood
Record player speeds: 33,45,78 RPM
Manual arm operation
Diamond-stylus needle
Two dynamic, full-range stereo speakers
Volume dial, with full volume range
This item does not come with outputs
Accessories: manual
Colour: Cherry
Great gift idea
Record Player dimensions: 400 x 355 x 125mm"
I turned up my volume, put my 33 record on the player, moved the needle on top of the player until I heard a click - then a gentle humming, motor-like sound came from inside the record player.
BUT: the big black disk/wheel thing in the middle of the player that you sit the record on will NOT TURN!
What am I doing wrong? What could be wrong with the record player?
I will be checking for best answer!
The amplifier is built in.
The only thing that seems wrong is that the big black disk that is built into it in the middle (which you put the record on) is NOT turning.
