I want to buy a portable record player on ebay but i have no clue what size record they play!

I recently purchased a used record player off craigslist and it's in very good condition but as I was moving it into my apartment, the cartridge head shattered and the needle was lost. I would like to buy a new cartridge head off of amazon or ebay, but am not sure exactly what type of cartridge I need. The turntable is a Zenith and the model number on the back is 4170, but I'm not sure about the year. Does anyone know what cartridge I need and where I can find it?

Hi, I am looking for a supplier of this item or a similar item, this link is on ebay and its far to expensive.. but it shows the idea of what I am after, its a Hard disk external enclosure for ide drive or maybe even a sata srive would also do me.. It can record from an input video..

Any ideas where I can get a similar item cheaper?

I have some old records I want to play but I don't have the right equipment. Can anyone give some suggestions as to what I should look for (brands, stuff like that). I just want a cheap one off ebay. A vintage one would be okay.

Thanks!!!!!!

I want to buy a good record player for some records I bought. I found this one online and it looked pretty good (but I don't know much about record players at all).

Can I play all sizes of records on a standard record player? (7, 10, and 12 inch).

Thank you!
If you knew what a record was?
......vinyl? Your question doesn't make sense.....
I'm looking for a record player (not a turntable. I don't have speakers for a turntable) and want to know what I should be looking for.

I have just received a bunch of fully restored antique radios and i have no clue what they are worth and am unable to find anything besides what Craigslist and EBAY tell me for prices can anyone help me out or point me in a better direction What i got:Freed-Eisemann: model FE-15, model NR-5, model NR-7

Crosley: model XJ, model 51, model 52, model ER Trirdyn regular

AC Dayton: model X-L-S

RCA: Model Radiola 3, model Radiola 18

Atwater Kent: Model 20 (a large one and a small one?), model 33,
model 55

questions such as should i get new sleeves? i keep reading about paper pulp getting in the grooves and stuff like that. Here's the record player i have http://cgi.ebay.com/Crosley-CD-Recorder-CR2406-PA-Director-Turntable-Tape-/310241454843#ht_1669wt_1139. im not in a huge worry about anything because i have the albums on mp3 also, but i want to keep them going good for as long as possible obviously. also is this a good record player? will buying external speakers or anything like that help the sound significantly? it sounds fine right now without any additions.

I recently decided to collect vinyl records as a hobby. I don't have a record player yet but eventually I will get my hands on one. Does one (record player) work for all the different size and speed of vinyls? (Ex: 7'',10'',12'' and 33 RPM, 45 RPM) Also, can anyone recommend a good record player that can be bought on Ebay or more ideally in stores?

Im clueless in these matters so every bit of information will be appreciated greatly! Thank you

Would urbanoutfitters be a good place? Because I was thinking about getting one of these:

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/urban/search/search.jsp?searchPhrase=Vinyl+record+player&listViewSize=&indexStart=0&sortBy=&sortOrder=&categories=&skucolor=&priceLow=&priceHigh=&skusize=&brand=

^^ Would those work with ANY records, btw? Sorry I'm kind of new to this >.>

Also, would best buy be an ok place as well?

I DON'T WANT TO USE AMAZON OR EBAY! I'm not aloud.

I'm thinking about getting a record player soon. I have zero experience with them. I've heard people talk about the quality advantages that records have, and I'm tired of my low-qual MP3s.

My needs are: a nice player that I can use with headphones, as well as a good speakers system. Budget is important, but definitely the least of my concerns. If I need to save for a bit, I'll gladly do that for better sound.

What brands or specific models should I be looking at? Do I need to buy new, or should I look to craigslist/ebay first?

Thanks for your help.

My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and I was planning on buying him one as well as a few vinyls to go with it. I don't really know much about them, though, and I've tried looking on ebay and a few other places for one. All that seems to be coming up are turntables that look like they're more for DJing and it definitely needs to be older and vintage. Are turntables and record players the same thing? Is there something specific I need to search for or look for in a record player? Anywhere specific I should try looking for one? Any and all information I could get would be GREATLY appreciated!

I don't have a record player so I can't test them. They are not in sleeves, I used to keep them in a little 45 box where you took off the sleeves. Who would have known?
They are not in perfect shape to sell on ebay.
Thanks.

lol sorry, I thought that i had put that in there before

I bought a record player from Australia on eBay and I live in North America. I went to RadioShack and it was to buy the two things I would need for the record player to work. What is the cheapest alternative?

I have a zenith universal radio that is from 1943. It has the handle and the back to the magnet is nailed up, but it was told to me that the magnet is still in there. It has all the knobs and there's nothing missing. The only problem is that it's door compartment is hanging loose because one side came off the hinges And it has age wearied leather but other than that it is fine. So my question is what would this be worth on ebay, amazon, etc. Or in an auction type setting.
I need real answers from preferably professionals or people who have done research

Hello! in about a month its gonna be my boyfriends birthday, and i've bought him a couple of records since hes starting to collect them. And now that i think about it, I should get him a record player to go along with it! can someone tell me the differences between a turntable and just a record player? Also where i can find one about 50 or up to 100 dollars? Im looking on eBay but everything is so confusing and I dont want to buy him something that doesn't work... vintage is fine... I dont want anything new or shiny.
Thanks for your help :) I cant even play cassette anymore...

i was gonna ask mah mom if i could bid on a vintage record player on ebay, but i was wondering if all records work on every record player. and will vinyl records from hot topic work on a vintage record player? and if said record player is beteen 5 and 10 dollars and they say it works, will it work? wil it be cheap or is this person just feeling generous? thanks. and hurry, bid ends soon.

also, how much are records from hot topic.

This is a bit embarrassing, please bear with me because I know nothing about this stuff. I want to buy an old vintage record player and a bunch of records, but I'm looking on ebay and it states whether the records are 33 or 45 or 78 RPM. I have no idea what this means, and how do I know which are compatible with a record player? Are they all compatible? Is one of the RPM better than another? Please help me out, thanks!!

Over my lifetime, I have sold Avon, ladies clothing, kids toys, fine jewelry, junk jewelry wholesale, veggies I grew (both as a kid and now), junk on Ebay, radio advertising, campground timeshares, college tour guide/admissions rep, stuff at flea markets, seeds, ideas, antique dishes and linens, cars for my husband on Ebay, band boosters junk, promotional products, and farmers work boots.
My Dad taught me at a very young age that if I could sell, I would never go hungry. What types of things have you used your sales skills to sell?

like this one on ebay:

i recently inheireted some records.
LPs and 45s but i don't have a player for them.
do you know where i can buy one? like an actual store or a legit website (not ebay or anything)

in the show, ten things i hate about you, there is one that kat uses in episode 7. something like that.

A while back I asked if the RIAA would have issues with selling an mp3 player on ebay loaded with music. Most people came back saying the RIAA very much would have a problem with that. However I still don't get it. How come it's ok to sell used CD's, DVD's, VHS tapes, records, etc? There is a legal market for all of these items. How come I can't resell my mp3 collection??? Isn't an mp3 just another form of media?

I'm not too savy when it comes to turntables, but I'd like to get one that doesn't need seperate speakers. I'd like one that has them built in, and I don't want any modern players with it (cd/ipod) just a plain ole record player. Where would be the best place to find one, antique stores, ebay, craigslist, and what do I search/ask for?
wow i just realized it was in cricket... yea i thought i clicked music... hmmmm... sorry guys
