Ok, I'm incredibly low-tech so please be kind. I just had a DVR box hooked up to a non-HD tv. I only have the most basic of cable options and just want to be able to record shows when I'm away. So far, so good. I love the box, etc. BUT, I went to play a dvd this evening and found that I can't get a picture. The remote control turns the dvd player on and off and all that but there is no picture on the screen. Before I got the DVR box, I used to have to go to an auxillary channel ("Front") for the DVD player to work. I don't have that option anymore. Do I need to unhook the old red-yellow-white cables from the back of the tv? Do I need a new set of tri-colored cables? Maybe in green and blue? Do I need to unhook the DVD player from the tv and somehow connect it to the DVR box? I am sooo lost and would really appreciate a *simple* answer. Thank you!

I need some type of portable recorder to record me singing during voice lessons/class. I've looked into various digital voice recorders and minidisc players, but the ones I've found are not good for recording singing, or need an additional mic, or not compatible with Vista.

What's a good recorder I can use for singing class? I need something portable that fits in my pocket (obviously, I can't be lugging around microphones, cables, laptops, and various attachments to class).

I want to be able to upload it onto my pc too (I'm using Windows Vista).

I'm looking for something under 0, if possible.

i have some video i uploaded from camera to computer, now i would like to record it onto a dvd using a dvd player because the computer isn't a dvd-r. i'm looking for cables with a red, white(audio), and yellow(visual) ends to hook into the dvd player, the other should be able to fit into the mic output on the computer.

i love female jazz or blues vocalists, from old ella to stacey kent, jane monheit, diana krall, bebel gilberto, i even like popular music vocalist such as kt tunstall, fiona apple, joss stone, pink, michelle branch, etc. as long as the recording is good. i need new CDs!!! i am thinking getting feist (ipod commercial), can you recommend a few artist out side my list? the ones you thin absolute must-have?? I'm only interested in excellent female vocalists and good recording. thanks a bunch!!!
p.s. my setup is fisher tube amp, jensen speakers, all from the '60s, even the cables are vintage. the only modern is the cd player. it is a wonderful setup for vocal music!
Thank you all for the recommendation so far! more please! :)

Im looking for a very basic player. A friend of mine bought one for 25 dollars on sale, and it basically plays the record, but to hear the audio you just plug in the two simple cables (red and white) to an audio source (like a tv input or stereo)

Ive found similar products but they go for around 100 dollars

**I want to be able to record from a DVD to a VCR tape**. I also have an X BOX to also be hooked to them. AND I also have a 5 button AV Selector box that everything is hooked to right now. I have all the cables & RCA jacks & no idea how to get it all to work & be able to record. Also, I have a PhillipsMagnavox surround sound stereo----help!!!

I have a stereo, Comcast, DVD recorder, and TV. I want to be able to record movies on the DVD player from my TiVO, or straight from cable how do I run the cables?

I have this set up:
Record player is connected to a pre amp via coax cables. The pre amp connected to a stereo mixer via coax cables. Mixer connected to PC through line in MIC via one Stereo Coax cable. In order to keep decent quality without crackling i need to keep the pre amp volume as low as i can get it while still being loud enough for the pc to record. If the pre amp is too high the music crackles and pops only while playing through the pc speakers. the quality is fine while playing through a speaker directly connected to the pre amp. Can any one tell me why it crackles when i increase the preamp volume? Thanks.

These speakers have the red and black cables coming out of the back of them that go into those holes on stereo systems. How do I hook them up to my record player?
Sorry it is a turntable
Sorry it is a turntable and the wires on the speakers that I am talking about are not phono wires they are the ones that you have to strip the rubber off of to get the the metal wire on the inside.

I recently bought an external soundcard (M-Audio Audiophile USB) to record live mixes from my DJ mixer.
The manual to this soundcard is terrible and doesn't explain how I can connect it to my DJ mixer (Pioneer DJM800)
I wanna know what cables go where.

Thanks for your help!
