Hello, I would like to hear from some people as what their thoughts are on this. Everynight, and I do mean everynight, as I lay down to go to sleep at night, I hear music. When I get up to locate the source, I can find none. I have been having this go on for two months, this time. I have had it happen before around the time my mom passed away. I can hear music and singing, however I cannot make out any words whatsoever. Last night I gave myself a headache trying to concentrate on it. My partner who was in the bed next to me, could not hear a thing. It reminds me of an antique radio as far as sound quality goes. It almost sounds like I am listening to it through a tin can...it has a "tinny" sound. It is starting to drive me nuts as I get up every night trying to locate where the sound could be coming from, but as soon as I start searching, it's gone. Any thoughts on this?? Serious answers only please
I have thought about the brain issue however it's not that. And to Fireball....dont judge me and my lifestyle, you have no clue what I have been thru in my life. Apparently you cannot read well as I stated it starts as soon as I lay down...so unless I dream awake, its not that I'm dreaming. And which god would you have me repent to??? the one that died on the cross for ALL of US not just you. that response had nothing to do with my question so keep your comments to yourself.
Thanks for the serious answers. As far as the mental aspect goes, most schizophrenics dont question the voices they hear. They think it's normal..this was told to me by a doctor. And the fact that I thought I was crazy, pretty much means I'm not as I wouldnt be sane enough to question it. I appreciate the responses. I have looked into heating vents...mine are up high but nothing. I dont know if I mentioned this, but I have had this happen before in a different house around the time my mother passed away. I will continue to look into it.thanks again
wanting to be retro? i basically like anything and everything from the mid 50's to the early 90's. when i get a car, i wanna get something like a 60's beetle. i wanna get a 70's wardrobe and i wanna change my hair. i like retro fashion. i love elvis music. i love back to the future and most 80's films. i've forbidden myself from using my ipod and computer for a period of time until now of course. i watched my television very limitly. i read the news every single morning. i bought an antique radio which was my only entertainment along with the newspaper. it's just too bad that i was born in '93.
what other things can i do?
Just bought an antique radio that cost 7 when it was built in 1929....anyone know what that would be in today's dollars????
How about letting us use our own personally designed avatars, instead of the clunky stuff Yahoo has? Nothing here fits with me, either "looks" or hobby interest. I would like either a record or antique radio avatar. I have several jpgs to pick from

just this kind, with the round suspended top.
Back in the day, my grandma crocheted doilies, emproidered doilies, and used doilies on the chairs, tables and anyplace flat. They used doilies on "Happy Days".
Do you remember them being starched? The ruffles all poked up all around, then you'd put a candy dish or lamp on it to protect the furniture.
If you still have them, where are they?
I have one on top of an antique radio (bulbs, remember taking them to the market to be tested on their machines), one under my grandmas hopechest (remember those), the rest have sit in a drawer.
It's sad to me that the old, beautiful, handmade items are not appreciated as much these days. My kid sure doesn't want anything to do with them.

I just thought about him out of the blue for the first time in several years after remember ing those cool looking KLOL bumper stickers of the antique radio with feet looking like it was strolling along and the bold KLOL typeface in green!
I looked on the net about DJ Crash to no avail, but did learn that the former rock 101 fm KLOL now spins a whole different genre of music since 2004, pretty much killing off the old KLOL format.
I have not lived in the area for years, but do remember the very distinctive DJ Crash, a.k.a. "Crash in your dash".
I heard rumors about his wild lifestyle befitting a 70's era DJ, and then I seem to recall him getting canned over something related to excess living, and then he showed back up on the air for awhile circa 1986 or so, after that I lost track.
Anyone know what became of the legendary Crash of KLOL fame?
AS for the first guy who responded and claims that Crash is no longer with us, I have no proof and my gut feeling on that answer is he is either just being sarcastic or just spamming for a website. I'd like a link to a story if it is true...but I kinda doubt it as I would have found something myself.
probably an Ipod.
That'd be pretty cool. Fully charged, loaded with all songs of all genres.
though It'd probably look like a huge antique radio by then.
tell me about yours
This is the one where people are participating in a "horse race" to catch an antique radio.
I have a medical condition caused by electronic radiation. Lack of energy, sleep and buz noise in the head etc. This comes from cellphone masts,TV, computers, etc. Mostly microwave radiation. When I holiday in the wilds for 2 weeks this goes away. I once saw a quarts crystal diode connected to a flat toroid coil (areal) that neutralize electronic radiation but also stops a cellphone from working in its vicinity (a few meter). This is desireable. Where can I buy sutch a diode? Tried websites from midnightscience to antique radio. If sutch diodes are no longer available, what is the angle to cut a quarts crystal to produce this effect? It must both recieve and transmit the same signal neutralising it to a great degree. There is a pendant called a Q-link on the market. If this is worn for a month or so, it protects against radiation. I don,t want this.(already got one) I want the other one with the radio crystal. Can you help?
Hope there are some antique radio buffs out there...I have a mid 1940's Sparton radio/phonograph.....the thing works perfectly except that the phono produces no sound (or very little sound) I tried a new needle ...I know the speakers are ok cause the radio sounds fine...any ideas? These old tube radios are a mystery to me...I just like refinishing the cabinets....thanks.
I saw an antique radio, and there was a badge of the companies logo that had a picture of a shamrock? Does anyone know this company?
I have an antique radio that was made by RCA Victor. The model number is 96T4. Its voltage is 105-125. There is also something about the Utah Radio Product Company on the radio. Can you please tell me some information about this radio, such as the year it was made, how much I might could sell it for, and were I could sell it at?
I just bought an antique radio at a flea market it is a general eletric tube radio in a wood cabinet stands about 4 feet tall there is a sticker on the inside that list the different tubes and it gives a number F135 can anyone tell me how to get information on this radio
I recently decided that I want to restore an old radio (preferable one with those beautiful Zenith black Dials)
I'd love to learn about where to start, I guess getting one is the first thing, being a college student, I really don't mind having to work hard on the radio if it cost a little less. I think the "Cathedral" style is my favorite. Help me learn where to start- where to get one at what not.
Thanks-

I have an old antique radio in my house and im pretty sure it has all its components. my sister told me she listened to it when it was at my grandmothers house about a decade ago and it worked then. I know the company was very prestigious and closed in the 40's but I wont take the time to sell it unless it's worth something.
My dad just got my stepmom a new Silvertone antique radio, and it is model 111. It is a tube radio, and it has wooden dials and sliding doors that close on front of it. Unfortunately, we can't find our camera, so we don't have a picture of it. We think it's from the late 20's to early 30's, but if anybody happens to have an exact year, that would be awesome
Where do I get the estimated value of an antique radio?
A tuning circuit in an antique radio receiver has a fixed inductance of 0.20 mH and a variable capacitor (Fig. 21.15). If the circuit is tuned to a radio station broadcasting at 880 kHz on the AM dial, what is the capacitance of the capacitor?
