The problem is that since Turntables arn't technically Insturments the arguments are gonna keep on coming...

But it is nice to actually say that scratching is solely Hip Hop....It adds something to the table...

I can't post cause i'm at work....but one of my favorite scratch breaks was in Mark Morrisons Return of the Mack....i think Capri did the breaks on that but till this day i'm still not sure....

Did you hear Wave Twisters 7 Mill from DJ Q*Bert???....

Turtabalism, that's the original essence of hip hop. Obviously I'm proud of it, it's one of the main reasons I listen to the music. But critics of the genre won't recognize it, no matter how complex it is.

There's no video for it but...
The X-Ecutioners - Premier's X-Ecution.

RHH3: You probably have already heard it but since it's one of my favorite's I thought I would bring up, DJ Melo-D and The Beat Junkies - The World Famous Beat Junkies Vol. 3.

I'm not gonna act like I know anything about scratching. But I find it funny that all the people who say hip hop isn't music say stuff like "listen to some Beethoven". With all due respect, f*ck Beethoven and all of classical music. I've never seen anybody cite Bach or some of those motherf*ckers as influences, and in terms of listening pleasure, their music is beautifully orchestrated, but its so f*cking boring.

Turntablism is an essential component of hip hop and one of the best things about it.
Have you watched the documentary Scratch? Check it out if you haven't, it's very imformative.
I'd venture to say that turntablsim must be one of the only (and perhaps the only) new instrument/musical concept in its entirety to be created for quite some time. That's a beautiful thing.
You can call a great piano player great, but you haven't been able to call one seminal for hundreds of years - not so for hip hop.

You already posted the Roc Raida one I would have so

Young Einstein (not the greatest quality) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2W_8breYcM&feature=related

Check out more Ugly Duckling for him. They're one of the few hip hop groups who still place a lot of emphasis on their DJ.

RHH3: Check out Invisibl Skratch Piklz Vs Da Klams Uv Deth

(I have it somewhere if you can't find it)
