As a general rule if you play,say 1 LP record per day, (starting with a new needle),you should replace the stylus unit (needle) after approximately 2 years. 2 LP records per day and you should replace after approx.1 year.If you play 3 LP records a day you should replace the stylus unit after approx. 9 months. EDIT....1 LP side = approx. 20 minutes,therefore you should replace the stylus unit after about 490 hours of playing time.
