Record player to slow or fast?
I have a regular turn-table player but when i go to play a 33, when its on the 33 setting, it plays too fast. But, when i put it on the 45 setting, it plays too slow. There is no setting in the middle. Is there something wrong with the needle or do I need the whole thing looked at?
Thanks
There should be a little screw-type thing somewhere on the top of the turntable. You might need a thin screwdriver to actually get to it. This might need adjusting a touch. It alters both the 33 and 45 RPM setting. You just need to dial it in a bit. If you could name the type of record player you have, or even better, find a picture of it, I should be able to direct you to where exactly it is. There are many different types of turntables that operate in many different ways. This is just one potential problem. It’s not a hopeless case just yet though
The four speeds are 16&2/3, 33&1/3, 45, and 78 revolutions per minute. There is no speed between 33&1/3 and 45.
I’m wondering if your unit has a North American (60hz) motor instead of a European (50hz) motor, or vice versa.
