record player plays songs awfully slow…?
i've got a 33 in, it's set at 33 not 45, even if it was it wouldn't be playing slowly it would be super fast. but for some reason the vinyl does not play at the normal speed the song would usually play at. i've tested it with several other songs with several other vinyls, and the same thing happens. i think it has something to do with the rubber band underneath the rubber pad the vinyl sits on. i think it might be loose and worn out. is that the problem? would i be able to get a replacement one somewhere if that is the problem? any help/guidance would be appreciated. thanks.
Sounds like u got belt driven turntable
the bands are pretty easy to get a hold of, try your nearest dj shop or audio specialist
before u go buy a band tho, check it on another turntable, it may be the way the vinyl has been pressed
if you get a new band, and your still having the same problem, then your player’s pitch setting has gone kaput!
I am not a repairman, but I remember having a record player do this when I was a small girl. The turntable seemed to slip on the belt that caused it to turn. As far as getting your turntable repaired, I would see if in your local yellowpages there is anything for radio or music equipment repair and give them a call to see about getting it fixed.
Good luck!
i was given an really cool vintage 33 record player
and the same thing happened
i just carefully took it apart without moving any major pieces and sprayed some WD-40 on it.
so now it works like new
try it if you can
