Problems with burning CD-R?
I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. Recently i was trying to burn some cds for a friend. The cds were the CD-R type. My computer has a DVD and CD-RW drive. At first i was able to burn to CD-R and then all of a sudden my computer would not read them. Everytime i put in the cd and went to windows media player it said enter a blank disk and it wouldnt read. After a while it finally worked again. Now it is back to not reading them. I dont know if this is a problem with the hardware like the laser reading the CD-R or is it something with the drivers or it is just a faulty disk, which i have tried multiple CD-R's? Also for the record i have a Dell Dimension e510 with windows media center 2005. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Its not that it just wont show up for the program when i open My Computer and look at the DVD-RW Drive(D:) it says that there is nothing there
Ensure that you are "closing the disk" … also known as finalizing … all CD/DVD burning programs have this option. If you do not close the disk, most drives will not be able to read them. Check the help menu in the program you are using for more information.
i think the problem is the laser/optic in your drive. if it’s the problem, then you may have to replace your cdrw drive with a new one, because the price of a new optic is nearly the same as a new drive
Invest in a CD/DVD Laser Lens Cleaner, and us it once a week, more if you burn a lot of disc’s.
hi friend
as you told it was working previously and all of sudden it stopped working then it has problem with its hardware.use CD cleaner for cleaning your device.
You have not told that are you using Nero ?if no then
use it for burning Cd’s it would be easier for burning .During burning process select minimum speed for it .sometimes if we select more speed then our CD rws speed then it will create problem in reading
