My in dash car cd player stops playing after 30 minutes since I put a label on the cd. Is the cd too heavy?
At first it sounds like a vinyl record is playing. Then the cd player can't find any track, it may start at any random part of the song but only for a second. It seems like the motor is too tired to spin or the laser doesn't want to move anymore. The cd has a label on it that I printed off my printer. Did the label make the cd too heavy? Any ideas would be appreciated!
No, most CD players can play CD's with labels without a problem. I suspect you have a scratch on your CD. Or the CD is not properly recorded. You can test to see if the CD works on other players.
No, my cd players all play labelled cd's just fine. Make sure all of the edges are stuck down very well on your label…and stop labelling your cd's.
AND you didn't make it too "heavy" but you may have made it too thick.
Sometimes when you burn CDs not all the tracks get burned. You can check this on your computer. Also, the paper from your label can produce lint particles that will eventually cause your motor to cease or burn out.
Is the lable put on evenly? does the lable cover any part of the clear center area? if you say yes to any of these then you need to redo the cd.
How thick was that label? Seriously, don't put labels on them…just use permanent marker (Sharpie!) and write on the disk.
I label all my Cd's and have never had a problem. Make sure some of the label isn't trying to peel up. That might cause the CD to drag in the player.
