Yes it will suit your purpose. I have three turn tables hooked up, and the cheapest is around 300 dollars but two I've had for years, with a collection of over 3000 albums, they get lots of use, or yes and one turntable is for converting vinyl to cd.
take care

yes, you can play 12`` on this turntable. I have gemeni turntables for my records. not the best, but after more than five years it still works. only sometimes I have to recover the needle. actually you can use almost any turntable, but it depends what you want in price, product and if you find it attractive. you can google or yahoo to reaction of people who have buy this product. or visit a store in your city to find it out.

If you only use to listen this turntable might be okay. turntable looks better, than the one I have. it´s up to yours :)
