Is the Numark iDJ iPod DJ Mixer compatible with the new ipods such as ipod touch or just any new tipes of ipod?
I'm trying to get my first dj mixer and this is both cheap and nice looking. it seems perfect too because I don't need to buy cd decks and all i need to know if it is compatible with the new ipods. also if you think i'm making a mistake by buying this mixer, please tell me!
if i were you i wouldn’t get this mixer, i would wait and save up money because it seems too toy like, it is missing a key part of real dj decks which is the pitch fader. So i would rather save up money for a pair of real decks or get a midi controller like the Numark Omni Control ($350) has everything you need except headphones and laptop, it already comes with software, Traktor LE (i would upgrade it to Traktor Pro for a couple hundred dollars in the future). Dj’ing is not a cheap hobby or profession. If you want to go as cheap as possible without losing too much quality the Numark Total Control ($200) is as low as i would go, problem being that with the total control you would need to buy a soundcard like the Numark i/o ($100) so grand total would be about ($300) from there prices will only go higher and these are the cheapest set ups i could find that are fairly good. regular cd player setups are about $1000-$4,000 and the same goes for turntable set ups. Midi Controllers are probably the cheapest way to mix. I hope you figure somethin out!
