I need some info on turntables / phonographs?
I would like to play alot of my old records again, I heard the sound of vinal again and now I want it. What is my best route. Do they still sell them new? Should I buy used? What brand? I dont want to spend alot but I would like to put together a system with a CD player also, something I can add to but for now just a record player. Thanks
used or new the important considerations are the type of needle, belt drive and does it have a speed control for fine tuning speed of play. The needle should have a balanced beam with weights adjustable for little light pressure on stylus.
The belt drive isolates the platter from motor noise since it is coupled by a rubber belt. It should have a preamp or some type of conditioning to filter any noise issues you may have out.
