i just got a record player and the turntable is very small (i wanted to play the big records)?

it says i have an option of 33, 45, and 78 rpm.
will the big records still play and fit on my player? will i just have to put it on 45rpm and it will work?
you can play big records. 12"s or LPs i’m guessing you mean. They usually run at 33rpm. 7"s usually run at 45rpm. though they should say what speed they play at on the label.
don’t worry about it being small. it’s just the design. if it has the option of 33rpm it can play big ones.
never used 78rpm so i’m not sure. doubt you’ll use that option. unless you like the sound of chipmunks.
If you have the option to play at 33 rpm you should be able to play longplay records on the turntable as well. The only thing is your record will stick out of the turntable while playing them (this doesn’t cause any problems). Since you did not mention what brand or type of turntable you have it’s hard to double check on it, but I can’t imagine ANY engeneer developing a turntable with a speed switch and placing the arm in a position it is imposible to play the record. So if you have the switch, you are able to play traditional LP’s too.
