		<description>If the noise you hear is a very loud hum, then the filter capacitors in the amplifier power supply have failed and will need replacing. If the noise is a crashing, sputtering sound, then it could well be a bad connection, or possibly bad coupling capacitors in the amp.  The previous poster has a good point...check wiring and connections first. Also look at the connections that go to the cartridge (the device that the needle is held in). You will see four very fine wires and four slip-on connectors that fit onto pins on the cartridge.  If one of these is loose, all sorts of noises will be heard.</description>
