How to record a movie file I made with window movie maker to a DVD?
Hello,
Does any one know if I need to puchase a DVD blank disk in order to play a movie I made with window movie maker in dvd player? The software I have to record on disk is "Burn CDs & DVDs with RecordNow!". I tried to burn the movie on CD-R disk, but I couldn't play it on a dvd player. Is it the disk I used to record that prevent me from playing it on a dvd player or the software? thanks
You will need to convert the mpeg to DVD format in order to watch it on a DVD player. It will reencode the video a map it with a menu that the DVD player can read. Nerovision Express has a free download. It works pretty good.

When u burn a cd-r cd it will only work on a computer. i tried it before with movie maker and it does not work. Im not sure with a blank dvd cd
you still need to convert the movie maker file…
instead of just burning the file to disk, look for a button/ command that says something like…
convert to vcd or something like that…
Hi Winnie
To solve your problem, you first download the software called as "nero",which can read & write any DVD,Mp3 & any data file.
Once you download it you have to install it. Then insert a blank cd into the disk drive, and according to the instructions int the "help" options of "nero",you will be able to record your movie on to a CD or a DVD.
lol i dont even now
It depends on capabilities of your DVD player.
Most DVD players also accept VCD format, so you can
create a VCD if your software can do it.
I use Roxio MyDVD from Sonic that supports creating VCD

If your DVD player accepts other formats, you can use the
data CD with .mov files or you can covert the movie into
the format accepted by your player like .mpg.
Check user manual for your DVD player. For example,
APEX DVD players you can get in Walmart are
cheap and support most video formats.

Hope this helps.
