How do I remove a phonograph turntable to get to the drive belt and replace it?
I have removed the bottom of the phonograph twice. I can see a bit of the belt but can't get in there to change it, so I figure I must actually access it from above, not below. But how? I can't get the turntable off and don't want to break anything. Thank you!
I pulled and pulled on the turntable but couldn't get it to come off. I didn't see any screw in the middle at the spindle or anything. I even tried to pry it off with a screwdriver---no luck. How the heck do I get to this thing? Yikes!
Most belt driven turntables have a top motor driver shaft accessible by the top. Is there a rubber pad on top of the plate ? if so, remove it, and look for removing the plate itself by holding with both hands and pull upwards, this should do.
