How do I modify a record player for turntablism use?
I would like to experiment with turntablism, and I have no shortage of crappy old record players around here. How were they originally modified?

Early hip hop deejays did not do much modification to their turntables. Adjust your tone arm weight for more weight. Maybe extra weight onto your headshell (needle assembly). A lot of old school DJ’s would use coins for this modification.
The turntable brand of choice for original and modern turntablists were/are Technics. That is because they have been manufacturing the SL1200 since 1972.
