How do I get the best recording quality possible using a computer to record from a cassette player?
I am trying to copy audio from cassette tapes to CD-Rom with my cassette player and my computer connected together from the headphone jack of the cassette player to the microphone or line-in jack of my computer's sound card.
Any advice would greatly be appreciated.

‘quality’ is a difficult thing to quantify for analog recordings such as cassette tapes, but suffice to say if everything is correctly connected, your tape heads are clean, and your tape and cassette player in good condition you should get reasonably decent quality.
If your recording software allows for ‘noise’ removal so much the better…
