How do I get into vinyl record collecting/playing?
So I listen to a lot of punk and indie music, and I have run into a lot of situations where I would really like to buy vinyl records instead of cds. Are 7" the most common? or 12"? Or something in between? What do I need to get to play records? How do I know what kind of record player is best for what kinds of vinyl I want to get into buying?
Help please, if you know a lot about this stuff. Links and stuff appreciated too.
These day most turntables can play both 7" & 12". The 7" are for singles they only have 2 songs on it & the 12" will be the full albums. When you get a turntable make sure you get one with a built in pre-amp. Unless you plan to buy a mixer or a pre-amp.
