how can i use a computer instead of carrying cds to use with a dj mixer .?
I see a lot of amatuer dj carry around loads of cds with them in order to dj. but i've also seen many using just a computer what i want to know is exactly what type equipment and software(s) is needed to do that.
how can you use a hardware dj mixer alongside getting music of your computer rather than carrying cds? how can i crossfade with a computer?
serato.com you need a laptop too
For equipment, I think you would just need a laptop with a decent speaker system… iTunes would probably be your best bet for software.
most good PC’s have multi media software built in. try http://WWW.winamp.com or http://www.musicmatch.com, if you don’t already have one. you simply save all the music you are going to play on the PC hard drive in MP3 or 4 format, and set up a play list in the software. Radio shack sells adapters that can adapt the audio output from the CD into RCA type line level output which can be plugged into most any amplifier. It’s relatively in expensive if your already have the PC.
