How can I record my CD collection, index, and use it to play through stereo system? I have old laptop & ipod.
I would like to replace my CD player (jukebox) with a comput- erized, indexed list of my CD collection to play through my stereo system. I possess an old laptop that I can use for memory, and I also own a video ipod. My home stereo system includes a Denon receiver. What software, hardware, and what connection methods do I need to use to create a digital server for playback of my own CD collection? How do I set it up? Bonus points if answering person knows how to explain to someone who understandss English but who is not a computer expert!
I suppose you know how to put your CD’s on your iPod. If not, search the Apple iTunes pages or manual. Make sure to correct/add Genres and create different playlists for different moods.
To connect your iPod to your amplifier, you need a stereo audio cable with at one end the same plug as the earbuds, at the other end whatever connector is used for AUX input on your amplifier.
There are much more expensive solutions, but this is easy, cheap and works. Enjoy !
