		<description>I've had several friends, all audiophiles, who have done this over the years - a lot of albums have been released on CDs, but many haven't yet.

Most of them used a Stereo Amplifier that has imput jacks for phono and tape. They then converted the album into WAV format. (They also needed a patch cable) - Check out the first link, this writer gives a good step by step detail of the easiest way to do it.
