How can I play my phonograph through my desktop pc?
I currently have the RCA cable w/ 1/4" adapter going from the preamp into the 1/4" input located on the back of the computer tower, but no sound is coming out of the computer speakers. Do I need a special driver to recognize the phonograph?
No you dont need a driver.
You should run straight from the audio out on the phonograph to the input as you run the risk of damaging your sound card when running thru the amp.
you will need a program to save the music, if you just want to listen to the music plug the phono into the mic input. make sure the mic is not muted.
You need a program to recieve and output the sound.
Sound Recorder that comes with windows should work.
Go to programs, accessories and open it. Then try.
