Help! Anyone own or use old school record players?
I'm a music junkie, but I'm starting to get into old school rock and alternative music. I was just wondering what the advantage is to using record players? Are there some good old albums that are available on records, but not on CD's?
Just tell me why you like record players-- and if you're young that hepls even more bc I was born in the times of cassettes and CDs.
Thanks!
Depending on what type of music you are into, some bands have releases that are only on vinyl. There are a lot of bands that still put out 45’s and LP’s.
I mainly use Turntables for DJ’ing but even that is slowly getting phased out with CDJ’s. I’m not sure if there isn’t any song out there that you can’t download. The thing with vinyls is that if you play it enough times you will eventually wear it out plus they really start to take up space once you get a good collection going.
I think when I was young my parents listened to records but all
of the music that reminds me of my childhood (Anita Baker,
Earth Wind and Fire, R& B from the seventies and eighties) I
think you get on a CD. I am twenty seven so I am from
the cassette tapes/compact disc generation.
