You could very well be suffering from mild schizophrenia. 
Many people have the gene for this and never even know it, but sometimes, if the person is put under stress, it can trigger it.

Don't panic though, it will probably just make the issue worse. 

Get plenty of sleep (drown out the music with real music if you have too)
Drink plenty of water, eat the best diet you can, regular exercise and make time to relax!</description>

I think I am sleepy and projecting my unconscious mind on to the available sound of appliance fans, computers, etc.

Even now, I can hear both the refrigerator and my tower PC.</description>
