Why not clean out your junk drawers from around the house an make your self a really neat jar or box - glue all the little broken, useless things at the bottom of the drawer - or things you used in previous hobbies, or that mean something to you - old pins, buttons, jewelry, all the things you would have thrown out eventually anyhow. Glue these objects to the top of the box - or jar - have to be patient and glue one side at a time - but you can go back and glue things on top of the others. Then spray paint the completed project to match your room.

why don’t you paint on rocks and start your own clob with others or something like that. Or paint on clothes.

Why not try knitting? Knitting is entertaining, it will push your design interest, you can make things for animals, shopping for yarn is inexpensive but fun & it can be taken along on trips easily. True, most people think this is an older person’s thing but it has been found by the younger set over the last several years. I myself just learned how to knit about 2 yrs ago & I have already taught a few dozen kids how to do it. I recently knitted a fashion scarf & sold it for $100. This cost me 6 hours work while I was on the phones at the call center I work for, a $3 ball of yarn & an old pair of needles I had picked up at the local thrift store for a dollar. I can’t think of a more inexpensive, useful, & challenging hobby for anyone. You can pick up some books about it cheap. There are several sites online that can show you how to knit. I personally went to the local old folks home a few times for lessons when I was having issues with parts of it. Try it you will love it. Yes, the first month will irritate you as you learn. After that, it is nothing but fun. Yahoo even has a knitting group you can sign up for and find new patterns & designs. Have fun.

Have you thought of babysitting? Not really a hobby, but it will get you out.

Or gardening for old people in the area? Like mowing, but more of the setting out bedding plants or other landscaping stuff

Or walking dogs/feeding pets for vacationing friends/church people.

or being useful to an aged relative? Volunteering at an old people’s home could be a "get out of the house" thingy.

Does your town have a local community center or YMCA? They usually have fun activities to choose from; check their event calendar. Otherwise, you could enroll in a local class like fencing, or roller derby. Intramural sports are always a fun option too. If you’re friends are letting you down, get out there and make new ones!
