I still have my old albums. I have been thinking about buying a record player on Ebay. I had forgot about the penny thing.Sometimes, it took more than one. Those were the good ol days!!
No.. But what a great ideal,
Yep - did that too! …lawdy are you bringing back fond memories!
not really i think its kinda dumb
yes, it works amazingly well!
Wow, there’s something that slipped my mind. Yes, and it worked great:~)
Of course and to keep from buying as new needle any sooner than we had too.
I don’t think I ever did?
Gosh, I had forgotten all about that. I sure did. I had this little square box type record player. It was like a suitcase. You could take it with you somewhere, but still required electricity.
Wow that was a buried thought…yes we did.
Not the rubber band, but a penny or a dime worked.
Oh Lord I remember that!
No! I never even heard of it, but it sounds like a great idea.
OMG no! I was the teenage audiophile, saved to get the very best equipment I could, had a good turntable and balanced it to cause no harm (as little as possible) to records..those things were expensive and I didn’t want to ruin them. I had 1000’s of 45’s and a lot of albums…that is the one thing I took good care of. Peace, Phil
I did . I forgot about doing those kinda things. It made me laugh when I read your question.
I had no idea that’s what it took to keep my records from skipping. Why didn’t I think of that?
quarters and yes….still have to…lol
Yes, we did that too, hadn’t thought of that in ages. lol
yep, hadn’t thought about that in years
Yes…..and Daisy, how do you keep coming up with these funny little things that we have all forgotten!? Just amazes me and makes me keep looking for your next question!!
I never used a rubber band, but remember putting a nickel on the top of the arm to help put pressure on it……
your idea seems so much better…..I did not realize how old I really was…..JK
I remember doing that. Or ever push down on it just where it was scratched and seemed to stick in hopes that would make a new groove and all would be well.
I never have heard of this before!
no never heard of that
Sure did many times. I still have some of those 45’s and 33 1/2 lps and play them once in a while.
Yes, that was on the records that I played again and again, or when one of my brothers pushed the arm and made a slight scratch on the records. Worked too. I still have a record player attatchment that goes with my stereo system. That is why I do not want to buy another one, then I will have norhting to play my collection of 78’s on. I do not have any 45’s right now, but of course used to have many during my teens, and my mother used to have a few that I would listen to all the time.
