Are you a fan of urban culture?
Typically, it contains street dancing or break dancing, hip hop music or rapping, house or techno music, turntablism, or other activities developed in inner-cities and made popular through commercialization. Hence names for cultural artifacts like urban music could be seen as a new term.
Metrosexualism, goth, emo, gangster...I really don't think they are great at all.

Personally I am really not a fan of urban cultures.
I sure am! I am one of the last standing old skool ravers!
Let it go!!! >blows whistle<
nah, im more close to nature, but once in a while come out of my shell to enjoy modern life
No. I’m a fan of country culture.
Most young people like it, so it’s become the pervasive social norm (at least in America), even in just undertones. That is, I’ve never met anyone under maybe 40 whose behavior hasn’t been negatively affected by urban culture, especially white kids. For example, can you honestly look around at your peers and say these are the same white kids from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" (80’s)?
Not necessarily a fan, but I respect it. I’m not really in-tuned with anything that you listed. Some artists, musicians, dancers who are classified as "urban" have mad talent though; you really can’t deny that.
I am a huge fan of graffiti/street art. It’s mind blowing what these kids can do with some spray paint.
Slowly grew out of it. I prefer Motown, Bourbon Street, and Rockwell culture now.
I like house music, but I’m not really into any of that other stuff.
Nope not a fan
I hate them all.
But I do like the statement: "made popular through commercialization"
Rodney- I love Motown. I don’t understand the lack of appreciation of Motown.
Not so much, no. Some of the music is okay. Some of the dancing is interesting. But the rest of it…..meh, not a fan.
I’m a country gal at heart. I like the wide open spaces and the ease with which I can enjoy nature - I don’t have to plan a daytrip. I can go for a 5 minute walk with my kids, and boom! there we are, a sandy beach, the beautiful teal water of the bay sparkling in the sunlight, and a nice fresh breeze. It’s heaven to me. I like life in a small town, and the people around me. They feel real, and I like that they don’t all have that "city slicker" vibe. I like feeling safe when I’m outside at night, even if I’m alone. It feels more free and less frantic than life in the city. I think I’d succumb to serious depression living in a concrete jungle, away from the fields and the bay and the stars at night. Plus I think the smog would kill my husband…he’s got asthma and finds that kind of thing intolerable.
This, however:
"It can also refer to the greater availability of cultural resources (such as art, theatre, events, etc) as compared to suburban or rural areas."
Is one benefit of city life that those of us in small rural towns don’t have. If I want to go see a play or the symphony, we have to make a day of it because it’s at least a 2-hour drive. We still make it to events - like the Auto Show in Toronto next month - but it’s a bit harder for us because of the driving. That’s one advantage that the city has over the country. I wish I could go to the symphony more often. I absolutely love watching the musicians play.
