Any info on antique “AM-FM 8-Track Stereophonic System” sold by JCPenney?
I have an antique "AM-FM 8-Track Stereophonic System" sold by JCPenney. It is a beautiful piece of wooden furniture that includes a radio, a record player and 2 speakers. I have no idea when it was manufactured and how much it is worth. Also, should I sell it as is or refinish the wood first?
If it has an 8-track in it it’s from the early-to-mid seventies. It was probably made by Morse Electrophonic; most of the Penney stuff was. What’s it worth??? Not a heck of a lot. Literally millions of sets like this were made by dozens of makers. They usually sell for fifty bucks or so, unless you have a really exceptional one like a Fisher President or Scott from the sixties, or one of the really great Magnavox jobs. Why not keep it and enjoy it??
