Am I the only teen who feels like this?
I love vintage clothes. I was born in the 90's, but my head is stuck in the '70s. My favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynrd, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, The Wings, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, The Steve Miller Band, and many more. I love old music. I can't stand new music. I hate the way kids are these days. I would rather go out and make my own fun rather than depending on a computer, tv, or videogames. And I wish I would have lived in a better decade with cooler people. I love record players and records. I can't stand gangsters or rap music. It drives me crazy. I don't like too much technology. I think it is too overrated and life consuming. Enough is enough. I don't fit in with today's teens and I wish I could have grown up in the '60s or '70s. Am I the only one who feels like this? Or are there other people out there who are like me? I'm 14 by the way.
It's not that I don't have friends. Everybody loves me in my school. I'm just different. And I wish there were more people like me.
Your own preferences are cool but you should find a way to relate to your peers also you should have a willingness to socialize with peers even though you don’t believe that you have to, the importance is to be able to work well in a group even though you may not agree with them. You may be a rebel at heart but don’t get too caught up in being a loner and nostalgic of the past because getting stuck in that frame of mind can lead to some major problems, you’ve gotta live and learn.
You are definately not the only teen! I’m 15 and I’m IN LOVE with the 60’s and 70’s! If i could have been born in 50’s or 60’s i think i would love life so much more! and i completely agree with every thing you said about your whole post!
I Love you man. I did grow up in the 60’s and 70’s and I’m here to tell you, while those decades had their fair share of problems just like all others; THEY ROCKED!!!!!! We had the best of all worlds. There was a sexual revolution going on, we could buff a doobie and go to work no worries, we could drink and drive (though I’m personally against that one) we did not have to have auto insurance or wear seat belts and we used to drag race on the strips late at night and get all kinds of pu**y. It was the greatest time to be alive and I kind of wish things could be like that again. I do believe technology has it’s upside but many people nowadays, Especially Teens, are getting carried away with using cell phones constantly and computers too. Like everything else, technology can be used for good or bad purposes but it can also be overused resulting in not enough time being spent getting crucial outdoor exercise and stamina.
Well I used to be in your age in the late 50s and it was boring to be a teen and do nothing I used to hang out with my younger friends sometimes I used to play puzzles or snakes and ladders and at the afternoon I used to listen 45s record player it was like a suitcase and you could carry it anywhere I used to listen to my favourite singer Brenda Lee and many others so yes it was boring to be a teen in the 50s but it had several good points then.
