Hi, I am looking for a supplier of this item or a similar item, this link is on ebay and its far to expensive.. but it shows the idea of what I am after, its a Hard disk external enclosure for ide drive or maybe even a sata srive would also do me.. It can record from an input video..

Any ideas where I can get a similar item cheaper?

I'm looking for a whole new set up, except for the record player, for under 0. I have looked at Onkyo's Home Theater systems (sr600 and sr800) but I have yet to hear of the quality of sound for playing vinyl. Home theater systems may be easier but I am not opposed to a separate receiver and speakers.

I listen to mostly records but I also frequently listen to my iPod and sometimes CD's and movies. Also if it is of any help, I listen to mostly folk and indie rock.

Any suggestions??

I could care less if players used steroids or not. All I care about is that I get to watch a good game of baseball. Does it really matter if players were using steroids WHEN IT WASN'T BANNED? I don't think it does and that all records during the steroid era should be legitimate because what the players were doing at that time was LEGAL.

I have a Emerson Model 635 AM Radio/Phonograph combo player in great cosmetic and working condition. Are these worth anything? if so how much? ( estimate )

I just hooked up a new dvd/vcr player to my older tv (uses a digital cable box also) using a rf modulator. I can view vcrtapes and dvd's, however when I want to record a program on tv that's where I'm running into a problem. When I want to record a tv show, I put a vcr tape into the player, but in order to record I have to turn the dvd/vcr player on. Then I loose the tv program. I just get the blue screen. Can you tell me what I did wrong?"

I'm looking at buying a 1930's-40's Victrola (or something like it) record player to play some Glenn Miller 78's I have. What I'm wondering is can those players play 45's or LP's or will they only play 78's? Did they make any players after the 40's that can play both? I know VERY little about record players so any help would be awesome. Thanks!

my daughter has many vhs tapes she recorded and wants to make them into dvd'd that she can play on her portable player.
she also has pre-recorded vhs tapes that she wants to copy onto dvd's

looking to not go bankrupt purchasing a recorder, but want to make sure that i have the correct unit
thanxs so much in advance

Hi everyone,

I am using this post in several places around the internet to get as much advice as I can about how to go about setting up my home studio.

I’ll try and be brief, but I’m afraid that lots of questions need to be asked, and while it would be nice to get information about everything from one person or source, I don’t think thats going to happen.

These are pieces of kit I have decided upon... I already have Guitars/Bass’s and amps... So thats not an issue.

I want to get a Vdrum drum kit (for noise resons) probably the new td9.

I will be using Pro Tools, via PC, with Reason 4/5.

Heres what I need help with.

Firstly I’m looking at options for interface between all instruments and Pro Tools...
Options:

A studio in a box (such as the korg D16xd – or current equivalent d3200??) to record all instruments (including Vdrums) and connect to PC via usb to load files into Pro Tools. Then from there, rewiring Reason for all other parts.

The Pro Tools M box solution.. As I understand, this gives you an interface that allows you to record straight to hard drive on PC into Pro Tools. (Some more info on this would be cool if theres anyone out there using such a system.. Even the website doesn’t seem to fill in some of the blank areas for me.) Do I need any other equipment, will all the things I have already DI straight into these, can I plug mics in and record that way... Its all a bit grey :P

I also need a midi keyboard... Now I’m not a keyboard player, but I can get by for home recording. So I don’t need something amazing, but I do need something that works perfectly with Reason, as this will be the rest of my band (strings, effects, Synths, etc) Do I need full size? Or would a shorter keyboard be enough. General advice in this area would be appreciated.

Thanks all for this initial help, I’ll come back with more as and when you good folks start talking to me..

Thanks in advance.

Steve.

For many years I have love thrifting, picking, yard-saling, and flea market shopping. And I would like t grow my list of these types of places to shop at. Anybody know a good way of finding more in my area or websites that help you find more in a certain area? I love shopping for vintage items, such as toys(especially 80's toys), erasers and other stationary, electronics such as radios and gaming consoles, records and record players, clothing, books, comics, posters, display items such as nik-naks, and folk art. I also like shopping online, any non-mainstream websites that sell these would be nice. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I always like finding new places. :]
Clothes and items that are very chic aren't exactly what I'm focused on. Some clothes, such as 80's sweaters, any decade denim jeans and denim jackets, and certain non-chic items are great, though!

I've got a couple of what i assume are NTSC DVD's (As they were recorded on that side of the world), that for some reason wont play on either my PC or my PAL DVD player.

The DVD's were made using a DVD recorded to record straight from tv to DVD.

What can i do to view these DVD's?

I have an antique wood radio. Philco model 39-25. It is not in the best shape, the fabric on the front is torn a little and the push buttons are beat up. It is not bad considering it was made in the 30's. Can anyone tell me if it is worth anything? I'm not trying to get rich off of it but want to know if I am looking at a or 0 or more.

I wanted to buy some vinyls. I'm confused. Will this: http://www.amazon.com/Everything-Transit-Anniversary-Jacks-Mannequin/dp/B0046YK4A2/ref=sr_1_1?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1304788222&sr=1-1
work on my player?

i have an Rca victor J2-45 record player and i need to get needles or stylus for it. where can i find a place for these needles or stylus? is there a place online who sell the styluses or needles?

I have gone through the process of digitizing my music to my computer. I didn't know any better, and I recorded everything as wma files. Everything works well on my computer, but if I buy and use a portable player, have I screwed myself by not recording as MP3s? Is there a way to convert all these albums on my computer? Do I need to "re-record" everything? Please let me know what I'm up against.
Thanks.

I'm a kid of '92, I'm not supposed to know this stuff.
It's my mom's old Magnavox AS305 (record player, cassette player, radio). I haven't used the cassette player in years, it was extremely dusty, but I was able to get my mom to clean it for me. Now my problem is this terrible squealing noise. I looked it up on the Internet and it said that I needed to demagnetize it. Hooray for me, I have a demagnetizer. Too bad I have no idea how it works.

It's pretty much this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/9b/Head_Demagnetizer.JPG/300px-Head_Demagnetizer.JPG

It has a battery in the back, a little red light on the front. I probably need a new battery, but I still don't know how to use this when I do get one.

Help?
Step by step, please.
Rush doesn't sound good when there's a high pitched noise all during Tom Sawyer. :( I figured out how to make the red light come on! I press the little thing at the bottom of the cassette looking thing. @.@
But what does the red light do? I'm guessing that there's something about pressing that button that makes it work.
I think I got it...
But it's still squeaking terribly. Any suggestions?

Do I have to buy a microphone for my computer or can I record myself with my MP4 player and upload it to Audacity/Realtrek?

For years I've had an odd feeling in my home, like someones watching me. It's especially centered in my bedroom. The activity has always been random and low. My room has 3 attic doors in it- in both closets and right outside my bedroom door on the ceiling and they would unlatch themselves, water in my rooms bathroom would turn on by itself.

However over the past couple month the activity has gotten scary. My TV/Radio turn on by itself, I lose things all the time and find them in places like the basement (i never go down there except to do the laundry and i wouldn't bring something like my phone/makeup/water bottle/etc down there.) - i will wake up in the middle of the night by someone calling my name. my boyfriend refuses to come to my home after he saw someone standing in my window from outside, when we went in ... no one was even home.

my parents collect a lot of antiques, and our home was build in 1905 .. so i feel theres a good possibility something, or someone is staying behind. im just worried about the escalation in activity ..

any advice?

I tried to use my hypercam to record somthing that was playing in Windows Media player but it only recorded the sound. My biggest problem is the fact that it work the first 4 times...after that only sound.

So what would be the best thing to capture the videos?

i recorded it on a Sony DVD disk

My kids have video cameras. One is a Vidster, one is a VideoNow brand camera. Neither take very high quality pictures, but my kids like them. I also have a Dazzle video converter to put my own Hi-8 videos onto my PCs for editing. Yay! What fun! Down load it to YouTube! All of these products and their software (for editing etc.) make .avi videos. That is just fine.

The problem is this: My kids want to make DVDs that will work in their grandparents, and cousins and friends standard (cheap) DVD players. I thought I could solve the problem with my Panasonic DVD recorder. I ran the .avi signal though the Panasonic and it recorded a DVD for me. Lovely. Problem: The DVD made doesn’t work on any other deck than the one it was recorded on, not the in-car DVD players, the portable DVD player, the . cheapie in my daughter’s room, not my parents or my in-laws.

I don’t want to buy any more electronics. All I want is a (cheap or free) app that will convert .avi to a universal DVD format.

I am going to use a DVD player to record my PS3 gameplay and I realised that I don't have any blank DVD-R disks I can use, I was wondering if it is possible to record over an old movie DVD that I don't need. Just need to know if it's possible. Thanks in advance.

o and the most importaint thing! der.. my parents dont believe me .....

My fiancee's birthday is coming up and we are having a BBQ with a couple of friends. He loves this dessert I make that is layers of: angel food cake, whipped topping, vanilla pudding, and fresh fruit.

I was going to make his birthday BBQ into a music theme because he LOVES music (especially oldies). So I was thinking I could make that dessert but use black food coloring for the whipped topping on the very top, have it in a round serving bowl, and find a way to have the top look like a record for a record player. This takes some imagination, but I thought it would be cute.

Good idea? Bad idea? Impossible for an amateur? Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

Thanks!

What is your prediction for the Denver Nugget this upcoming season?

BQ:Are you glad that it's finally the weekend!!!?!?

Thanks For answering.
Yeah I got them low, because there is a high possiblilty of them losing Melo, and I don't think there going to suvive in the West without him.
