i got my parents old record player from the attic to play records but its needle is gone/broken and i don't know what kind of needle i need or where to buy. the model of the record player is a (kenwood direct drive fully automatic kd 77f) need to find what type of needle it uses and where to buy it.

My GF and I have decided we want a radio in the bathroom, yet the only one we have the right size(not a whole deck) is an antique wood frame Realistic. It's already in use in another room and would probably get completely destroyed, inside and out, in a high-moisture environment.

The 120v duplex receptacle I will be plugging it into is a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI, the ones with the reset button that shut off entirely if a short is detected, like when an appliance falls into water) so electrical safety isn't a concern-

What I am concerned about, in such a dry climate, is steam. The radio won't be IN the shower at all, so it doesn't need to be 'water-proof' just reasonably moisture resistant, whether it's advertised as such or not.

My GF also wants it to have either an iPod mounting cradle, or what I suggested instead, a mini-jack(headphone size) input plug to connect anything that can play through headphones. IMHO, those iPod cradles seem highly susceptible to moisture corruption.

We're willing to commit a chunk of change to this, but we're hoping to avoid paying a whole lot, somewhere in the -80 range.

The dvds will only play on the dvd recorder that I dubbed them on.I have used dvd+r and dvd-r.

It's a legit record player with needle and all with the spin but the record's red and it's just a controller for the music from the computer

spud clock
lava light
princess phone
pet rock
original "pong" gaming unit for your t.v.
intellivision and the scope gun that went with it
antique short wave radio
dishes that came from a "DUZ" (detergent) box

Also, if you remember any of these things, do any of you still have any of this stuff? If so....why? For the antique value? Because of who gave it to you, where you got it, or because it's too much work to throw it away? I'd love to hear about your "old stuff" and the reasons why you hung on to it.

I have a lifetime Sirius subscription, but barely use it anymore because Sirius is blocked at work and I usually listen to CDs in the car.

I would like to get a new portable receiver for:

1. Use at gym as a MP3 player
2. Record Howard Stern or Sports and listen to during work.
3. Use in the car as well for talk and/or music.

I usually use the internet to listen when I'm home I have no need for the receiver.

Any recommendations on what will be the best for me.
I can't access Sirius at work, even just to look at the receivers.

I do know they have the Stiletto but I hear alot of bad reviews about that.
I noticed XM has something called the XMP3 which looks pretty good, but can you use that with Sirius?

Thanks for the help.

I have a JVC DV/VHS deck player. I have some video on VHS and I want to put the video on DV, is this possible?
How do I dub it to the DV.
On the left side of the deck it has the DV slot and under that
there is the stop, play, pause buttons, then under those there is the DV, Dub,S-VHS, and record buttons, next to those there is the DV button that lights up.
On the right side of the deck there is the S-VHS button that lights up and the REW/FF dial and the VHS tape slot.
Can anyone help me? Thanks.

HELP! Lol I am SO lost when it comes to this stuff. I want to take my home videos and record them onto disks to play on my DVD player. What disks do I need???
Also the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R.

Certain formats the videos need to be in?

Where can I find a needle for my vintage turntable?
I need a new needle for my vinyl record player. It is pretty old, a Panasonic LTD Se-4509. I can't seem to find a place that has a needle for it anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this model?? Or where I can find more information about it? Are there needles that fit more than one model?
I really don't know much about turntables and would really appreciate if someone can help and point me in the right direction, or is this turntable a lost cause??
Also if anyone knows any music stores or repair shops that fix old turntables around CHICAGO, IL that would be great!

we have a cable box, which we can disconnect, if necessary. both the DVD & VCR players have AV jacks in back & front. we have one AV cable. do we need more than one? one of my neighbors was able to record a DVD onto a video, or so she says, & piracy issues aside, i wonder if this can be done. if this can be done, let me know how.

I have been given a very old radio line red wheelbarrow, I think its an antique and would like to know where I can find a value for it. I can't find much info on the web about it and don't know where to go from here. Any help would be great. Its all metal with one complete handle, not two seperate handles. It has plastic wheels and looks all of about 60 years old.

My mother wants to rip her old vinyls (33 1/3, 45, and 78 RPM) into MP3s that she can play on an MP3 Player. Can anyone recommend a good USB Turntable that I can get her for Christmas? She has a laptop so recording them through a sound card isn't an option.

Recorded books use many CD's (up to 20) and are difficult to listen to when moving around because of the need to change CD's. I would like to load the one's I have and find new one's to down load diectly to an MP3 player. Listening to music would be a secondary use.
I would like to use it while travelling, doing light exercise and jobs around the house.

For this use what would be the best make and model of MP3 player and are there sites to download books, magazines and educational material?

Hi,
My father hv around 100 l.ps( records) now he want to convert all those to c.d but i dont understand how to take all those song to pc then convert, plz help me in this coz my father is very Imortional about those L.P s & i want to change all L.P to cd, plz help me.

If you are having trouble burning cds with WMP, lower your burn speed. I posted previously today why my cds used to play on computer, but not on stereo or portable cd player. The cds being used to burn music obviously didn't keep up with the burn speed of computers. To do this, insert blank cd, click on my computer, right click on CD Drive (E:), click recording tab, and select a write speed of 4x or lower. Hope this helps. If not, then take your computer you paid your hard earned money for, find the tallest building, and throw the sucker clean off. Good luck. And Nicole, stop calling me, I don't want you!

I recently got a turntable and bought some used vinyls for it. One of my vinyls plays wonderfully and doesn't have any scratches, but it appears to be warped and wobbly. I can visibly see the arm of the record player bobbing up and down as the record turns. Is it okay to play the record, or will it damage my record player?

It turns on 78rpm speed but not on 45 33 or 16. How do i clean the idler wheel if that is the problem I think it is slipping but i am not sure. I took the turntable off and it looks clean but someone told me even though they look clean they are not. So someone please help i inherited this from my grandmother and i want it to work forever

I am searching for the right type of record player. I want one that delivers high quality sound, but also one that looks good, not some plastic pos. Also, one that is durable. Nice features would be nice too. I already have a nice Grado Prestige Gold1 cartridge. So, i want to put it to use. I was looking the following brands: Pioneer, Denon, Harmon Kardon, Ion, and Technics. Please put the model number so i can look it up.

the fact still remains Barry Bonds has never failed a drug test. When Barry Bonds was on the verge of breaking Mark McGwire single-season homerun record, which he did end up breaking everyone who wasn't a hater was excited. Then why now has most everyone become a Barry Bonds hater? The answer is there weren't too many people who weren't Barry Bonds haters to begin with. All that's happened is that it's come out that many ball players were taking steroids and he's been suspected. And now a popular knock on him is that he's an asshole, but they weren't saying that before, the press is looking for an excuse to put the name of Barry Bonds in vain any way they can.And now let's get to the point that there is absolutely no proof whatsoever. What happened to our constitution us Americans boast about that makes us the greatest place in the World? It says pretty clearly there innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. So as far as the constitution goes he's innocent.
As far as fair human reasoning based on it he's innocent. As far as the very values we base our everyday lives on Barry Bonds is an innocent man! Anyone can make a report saying he said he unknowingly used steroids to a grand jury, but there's no proof. Anyone can put anything in the paper to build any kind of case against him because there's no proof what they're saying is wrong. And just because there's been a media explosion ganging up on Barry Bonds fans have given into it, or used it as an excuse to anyway. The media has found an opportunity to absolutely destroy Bonds just because of a suspicion, and they've taken it and taken advantage of it to convince the public. Why such hatred to a man that was once being praised. First off, Barry Bonds does not like the media and has not interacted well with the media throughout his entire career. So they're trying to back at him by making all the fans that once liked him to not like him anymore either.
Another reason, whether you'd like to admit it or not is racism. When you think about it only 40 years ago there were laws that showed blatant and utter racism against blacks and most people were just fine with it. And since the laws weren't put an end to until 1970, right now in America as it stands people 45 and older learned racism as a way of life. And at the point where you're almost 10 years and all you've known is racism you're entire life a couple of laws aren't going to change that. Most members of the press are over 45 years old so racism towards anyone shouldn't be a surprise. And the only reason they weren't challenging Bonds before like they are now is because it was impossible to challenge what he was doing and the chance really wasn't presented. So you can't tell me that racism is not a reason the media has been hating on Bonds and you can't tell you tell that those same people in the media don't influence the everyday fan's opinion on sports.
So now why don't you like me?

Answer him. After taking into consideration everything I said find one reason not to like Barry Bonds. It's not his attitude, it wasn't that before, there's no reason for it to be that now. Why? There's no proof he is or ever was on steroids, and if you follow the constitution by which you live by you can't hold paper thin accusations against him either. Being fair there's only two things you can think of with Barry Bonds. One, he's the most feared player to ever play the game, and two, he's never failed a drug test.
Very true fact that roids cant help you make contact with the baseball....they might be able to help you put it further (not quite proven) but then cant help you make sweet contact 757 times!
Here Bonds never admitted to roids...he admitted to using a creme that had a substance that he was unaware of and its effect...but regardless...he never tested positive...

What bugs me is...look at football players...if they get caught with roids they get a 4 game suspension....come on...does that mean the effects of roids wear off after 4 weeks??? Im goin to guess no...

Bonds has been off roids for evidently a long time now (if now always) and he is still posting good numbers...
Evidently Peewee (below) is an ignorant being....roids didnt help him beat hanks record....Show me where Bonds was suspended for roids...oh wait..you cant...cause he wasnt....if roids helped him with anything..it would be the single season record...which need i remind you was broken by a tested positive roid head...Mark Mcguire....

here is the thing...Mcguire used roids to beat the single season record...nobody hates him...WHY??? Because the media like Mcguire and gave him a positive image...Bonds on the other hand has had a negative image even before he started edging towards records....

I have cable internet. I would like to be able to pick up my cable channels on my computer so I can watch, and importantly, record shows and specials that come on. I would also like to be able to run a cable, or perhaps wireless, device so that my computer screen appears on my big screen tv. I have tivo and use a wireless router to connect all my internet adapters but transferring stuff from the tivo to the pc takes forever and I hate having to deal with the tivo encoding when what I really want is to save my shows in divx to play on a portable player. Am I dreaming or can it be done?

I just recently acquired a large collection of vinyl records and I would really like to play them. But I don't know squat about record players. Can anyone recommend a record player that can play many speeds, and manual not stack. I heard Dj turntables and record players were different. And I shouldn't get a turntable. Unless i misunderstood and both are one in the same. And If you know of one that isn't under 100 but under 200 that is fine also. New or Old. Doesn't matter to me. I would like something vintage if possible.

I got my dad's record player a few months ago but he didn't have any speakers, just headphones. I have been using the headphones but I would really like some speakers so I can play it loud. I have checked online and can't seem to find any. What is a good place to buy some good quality speakers for my record player? Preferably in store but doesn't have to be
