Chapter 2
Para
My eyelids slowly opened in vain and distress, my body was wet and itchy. I slowly went up with the support of my hands; I slid back down the creek. My body was clumsy and tired the smell of blood conquered my nose. “Ahhhhhhhhhhh”. I screamed into the air. I couldn’t take it anymore I bundled my hand and hit the ground pushing myself up. I ran quickly to the grass and fell into the snow. I pushed myself up again and ran to the nearest tree. I fell again so I crawled to the tree and laid my back against it. I reached for my pocket. Reaching for my pocket I took out a bottle of cream and scooped some of it up. I rubbed it all over my leg and put my dress over my leg. My hands reached for the tree branch and I lift myself up.
I run to the sidewalk. I stumbled across the street. I herd something hit the ground I looked around and saw Ms.Cane with my mercy cream. She gasped,” What in god name happened to you Para.” “I… well…see…I kind of fell into the creek…badly.” I said retreading the cream. She grabbed my hand and took me into her shop. I lay on the table gazing around the room. The radio turned on and said next week would be no school; a snow storm would hit in the morning. The door flew opened I flinched and jumped of the table. “Ms.Cane did you hear, the Castle collapsed just yesterday all the white-flames are out all of them. They are probably all over the city. Do you hear me?” “Yes I hear you Sara.” Ms.Cane said bringing down a bottle of syrup. “White flames? What’re those?” I asked wide-eyed. “You don’t know what white flames are?” Sara said gasping. “No Sara because I would just ask what they are to hear me talk.” I said sarcastically. Sara rolled her eyes and stomped out the store. “Uh sweetie you got to learn how to shut that mouth.” Ms Cane said rubbing honey on my leg. “White-flames are antiques but in a human version they are very complex. Very doll like, you’d be surprise if you meet one you them they are like some cartoon characters. I remember when my mom took me to that castle I had an amazing time they were very interesting. But they are abnormal, some of them scary.” “Oh.” I said. Things begun to go through my head, soon I became almost dazed. I was thinking about someone…last night…something happened last night. Gosh I have a bad memory. Ms.Cane snapped her fingers. I looked at her confused. I shook my head and thanked her.
Walking out the store and into my block it became colder and the air was thick. My eyes hit the sky and I stopped walking. My eyes hit the snow. I knew I was trying to remember something, pale, pale, pale. I kept repeating. Inside my mind it was dazed a shattered half of my brain was like off. My legs wouldn’t move, I just had to remember. Damnit was all that went through my head. Gripping the cream control was lost and I threw it. In my mind lightning hit me, a shark ate me and I was re-born, a car hit me, a ruler was struck on my brain. The wind blew through my body. My bones flew to he ground, blood sprinkled over the city. I saw a vision. Lolita, Lolita I kept thinking. I looked at the vision her lips moved in and out. “It’s over…” She repeated over and over. The lightning flew back to the sky. My mind became my mind and reality became life. I unbutton my coat and threw it on the snow. Confused, I ran to my house.
Alice
Walking through the woods I try to forget last night. My powers are stable now but I don’t think I am. Gosh I need some food and water. The creek is all bloody so is the water, and im not going into the city with blood all over me. Tress, bark, and dirt, is all I pass no food! As im walking a tree blocks me I look up at the tree, it has a honey sack, just what I need. Quickly I climb up the tree and rip of a sack. Golden honey oozes out. “Mmm”, I say licking the honey.
The sun gets brighter and im getting thirstier. My mouth begins cracking and my lips are dried up. “Gosh I can’t take it anymore!” I say running back to the creek. The stream of water is still filled with blood; I put my mouth next to the water and drink it. Each gulp makes my mouth sour and filled with blood. I wipe my mouth and watch the rest of the water go down the creek. I Know Para is probably looking for me not knowing what happen last night. Well I can’t have that. “Hey you there what happen to my creek.” A man said with an icy voice. I looked at him and got up. He seemed pretty old. Gosh I hate talking to these people. “Sorry, but I don’t see your name on it.” I say smirking. “Well I don’t care its mine and its not open till summer you no good kid.” “Hmm a no good kid? Are you sure you are referring to the right person?” I say staring into his eyes. “Huh what are you doing?!” He says moving back. I grab his arm and pull him close I stare deep in his eyes. My eyes turn red his become black. Deep into his soul, I see nothing, bedsides he’s not worth the killing. I push him t
to the ground. I don’t feel bad for doing that to him he was a jerk and I hate when people disrespect me especially being a merchandise and all. Now that im not longer in the castle I have to protect myself. I’m not a killer just somebody who doesn’t stand for unfair treatment…ok well maybe im a killer a little.
I wonder into my mind while walking. BOOM. “Owe hey watch out.” “Wait is that you Lolita?” “Ya it’s me Para.” I say annoyed. She gasps. “God… I taught id loose you…wait a minute.” She pushes me down and gets on top of me. “Wait a minute… you tried to kill me.” She said holding me down. “Try what? Ha it was kind of easy your lucky you didn’t die.” I said pushing her off. I sat on the side walk and looked at her confused. I began coughing and coughing, water shot out of my throat. Wide eyed Para grabbed my arm and pushed me up. “Here swallow this.” Para stuffed my mouth with snow. My throat got tight and tight, I coughed and coughed. Blood kept shooting out of my mouth.
I was wondering if anyone had knowledge of such an item that I have. I have a Commodore Transitorized Record Player that plays 45 rpm records and is stated to be the world's smallest record player. The item must be pre 60's but I cannot find anything on the internet about it. The item is practically mint in its foam box along with the original batteries still wrapped in plastic along with the manual. The Model # is PH-333
Anyone know anything about this stuff?
Thanks!
my dad has a bunch of old records that he has collected but he can't listen to them because he record player broke so for Christmas as a surprise I was going to try and transfer them all to cds so he could put them on his ipod or play them in his car. I get the basics of how to do it but it's kinda confusing me. Do I need a turntable to do this or can any record player work? If I can use a record player, what kind of plug does it need to have for it to be able to plug into my laptop? My computer has a cd burner, that much I know but I'm not sure what kind of sound card it has if it has one at all. What kind of cable do I need to connect the record player to my laptop and I heard I would need some sort of pre-amp too but is this true? And lastly what type of computer program is good for recording music like this and converting it to mp3 format? Thanks for any help you guys can give me, I really appreciate it.
I have a DVD Recorder and a DVD Player and I want to connect both to my television so I can play home movies and record them at the same time onto another DVD. Can this be done? if so can a DVR be connected to the DVR recorder also? I do have S-Video and AV jacks on back of the television and DVD recorder and player as well as the DVR.
I need a new needle for my vinyl record player. It is pretty old, a Panasonic LTD Se-4509. I can't seem to find a place that has a needle for it anywhere. Does anyone know anything about this model?? Or where I can find more information about it? Are there needles that fit more than one model?
I really don't know much about turntables and would really appreciate if someone can help and point me in the right direction, or is this turntable a lost cause??
Also if anyone knows any music stores or repair shops that fix old turntables around CHICAGO, IL that would be great!
I have purchased a record player that allows me to put my old records on disk, unfortuantley I am not very good at using it and have managed to mess up many a c/d trying to get the hang of it. I really cannot afford to keep buying disk just to have to throw them away and I was wondering how I can erase the mess-ups and try again? Thanks in advance.

Survey:
1. What is the best album from a Grind Time Rapper (other than NoCanDo's material...)
2. Who is the best West Coast producer?
3. I've been on a West Coast kick lately. Do you agree that the West Coast underground scene is criminally underrated?
4. What is the best Boom Bap album?
5. What is the best album to heavily incorporate scratching (that isn't a turntablism album...)?
My church has a PA system, and every Sunday we record the sermon and worship on two audio tapes, which we then copy and sell to whoever wants them after the service (at barely the tape cost, of course). Hardware involved: a tape deck and a tape duplicator.
Now we want to switch to digital recording. The idea is to burn audio CDs (quick duplication is a plus) and post mp3 files on the web site, but mp3 CDs and audio tapes are also desired. There is no internet connection in the church hall.
I imagine several solutions, involving one or more of these items:
- a computer with a good sound card and one or more cd writers
- a hardware CD recording device (perhaps with tape too)
- a hardware CD duplicator
- a portable mp3 player/recorder
What solution would you recommend, that:
- doesn't cost a lot
- doesn't require more than basic technical skills
- can produce audio CDs quickly
- preferably, can produce mp3 CDs
- makes it easy to split the worship and sermon parts

Are they using a laptop, desktop, or iPad?
CD Player or iPod? Or, god forbid, are they still using record players or tape cassettes?
How up-to-date are they on their technology?
Hmm, I'm not sure what class has to do with rather or not you use an ereader.

Need help!!!

What I mean is, I really love the idea of putting on a record on a record player in my room, and just listening to it. I love old music and new. I'm pretty sure I could buy plenty classical records, but what about the new music today that I like? Do record shops make records with new music on it, such as from the show GLEE, Sade, Sixpence None the Richer, or Imogen Heap, just to name a few? If so, where could I buy such record players and records? Thank you so much.
I am looking for a CD player for my home stereo, but I want one that will record the CDs that I put in it. So a CD player that records onto a built in MP3 player. If so, where do I find it and what is it called?
Alright, so I am a 14 year old who want a good turntable. Honestly, I know nothing about buying record players/turntables. I have this one at the moment. http://www.amazon.com/Crosley-Radio-CR6005A-MA-Turntable-Mahogany/dp/B002N60HES/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1291083706&sr=8-15. I don't know the difference between usb and not usb, I want to also buy speakers with them and I also don't know anything about that. I was thinking about some acoustimass 3 bose, but I am not sure if that is for record players. Please advise me on what I should get. Thanks!
my grandpa has this nice record player probably costs good money when he bought it in the 80's but he probably hasnt used it in 15 years I was wondering if it was ou of line to ask him if I could have to play my records on. do you think that would be appropriate? and how would I do it?
The voice record feature on mp3 players - does anyone know if there's usually a time limit? Can they generally record for 45 minutes to an hour or more? And if it can, is there generally an easy way to transfer what was recorded to a hard drive or memory stick?
trying to find any info on this table but no luck with Google, it is an old general electric am fm radio with a record player coffee table, wondering what year they were made and any other info i could find.
I have three computers running iTunes under the same user name and password, and there are so many albums and songs which are on one computer which aren't on the other two. Is there a way to fix that?
Also, is it possible to transfer non-downloaded albums, like albums which I bought as LPs and used my record player to transfer to iTunes?
Thanks in advance!

what is the best vintage turntable brand?
or is it just old people and hipsters
Well, I am 54 and since my young days I used gathers songs on audio cassettes. Now I have a collection of about 400 cassettes. Now in a car we get c.d. player. My difficulty is can I record those songs to an audio c.d. at home? Or do I have to go to a professional person?
I have an antique Silvertone radio, model # 109. There might be more information on the radio but I'm not sure where to look. I'm wondering how much it is worth and how many were made, and when they were made. Also how much it would cost to have it fixed? The radio is around waist high for an average height person and perhaps almost 2 feet wide. It has some water damage, scrapes & marks, and mice got into it awhile ago & chewed the speaker netting (don't know what it's called). If you could help at all please do! Thanks.
If I turn on a turntable (record player) so that it is at a standard USA playing speed at 1:05 am on any given day (in Pennsylvania), and stop it from spinning at precisely 1:05 am on the next day (in Pennsylvania), how many revolutions (total spins) did the record player complete?
The turntable sustains a consistent speed (rpm) the entire time.
Do you know the answer(s)?
If there is more than one answer, how many answers are there?
For the younger folks, I only know of three standard rpm for USA records ( 33 1/3, 45, and 78). If you can give examples of other speeds, I will take it in consideration for best answer.
If there is more than one answer, how many answers are there?
The total number of possible answers are sufficient to get the best answer, but please explain your reasoning.
* I was not taking the revolution of the earth into account. The question is strictly about time and number of revolutions of the turntable platter.
rpm = revolutions per minute. So, you would multiply (33 1/3 or 45 or 78) by the number minutes in the time between 1:05 am on any given day. It is easy to find three answers that are correct, but there are other possible answers to the question.
