I have one of those piece of crap Crosley record players that, for some reason, can play cassette tapes, CDs, and has a radio, but no stupid output on the player. So, the only speakers it uses are the ones in the player. I've tried recording using a microphone, but no matter how I mix it, or how much tweaking, it still sounds like crap. How should I go about recording a vinyl to MP3?
Is there any method that doesn't involve getting a new one?

I have a stack of old records of my parents and grandparents from way back. Right now I have an old '70s RCA tabletop receiver with a built-in turntable. The speaker outputs are shot so I'm looking for a new turntable with all three speeds 33, 45, & 78. I'm not a DJ so I don't need fancy switches and buttons, etc. Just something with an on/off switch and a speed switch. I'll just be listening for normal pleasure in a my home. What are the best brands of record players? Cartridges? Needles? What do they cost? From experience, how long do they last? I'm trying to build an entire stereo from scratch so I want the best. Thanks so much!!!
I've bought cheap pieces of crap for 0 that sound very bad. Such as Emerson, the "sad excuse for being classic" Crosley replicas, etc. I only want the stand alone turntable, not an all-in-one set-up.

i want an old school record player

and i want to know, apart from the obvious, what other things like leads, what types of speakers etc, would i need to make it work?

...60s?
I would prefer some form of antique or antique looking portable player. Did such a thing exist in the 1950s or 1960s? If so are the any brands or models to look out for?

A-Rod is the youngest player to ever get to 500 homeruns. does this mean he could break the all time homerun record which will most likely be set by Bonds

I am prompted to record the video with RealPlayer, but it only records the audio. When I changed the preferences, it says the video cannot be played, and there is no upgrade to play that type of clip.

IF, as evolutionists claim, the earth is billions of years old, and mankind has evolved from a lower and simpler form of life, then why has mankind gone from writing upon stones to laser printers in just the past 3,500 years? When God gave Moses the Ten Commandments, they were written upon stone. It is abundantly clear that the Egyptians carved messages into stone (hieroglyphics). So why is it that mankind has only discovered better inventions in the past few thousand years? If mankind had evolved, as evolutionists claim, then why didn't man discover ink a million years ago? Think about it. This is an astonishing thought--There were NO planes, cars, computers, refrigerators, electricity, lights, gas, powered-equipment, telephones, recording devices, CD players, MP3 players, electric razors, televisions, record players, movie cameras, or a million other modern technological inventions--just a mere 170 years ago. Civilization has advanced from utter primitiveness to incredible mind-boggling achievements in just a little over 100 years. So why didn't mankind discover any of this stuff 100,000,000 years ago, or 100,000 years ago for that matter?

Look at the ignorance of doctors over the past few centuries. Sanitary practices, such as washing hands, were laughed at by doctors, while thousands of patients continued to die. It was unimaginable to doctors back then, that washing one's hands somehow was related to a patient's health in the operating room. Can you believe that? Evolutionists today are just as ignorant of the truth of God's Word, and of common sense itself. It's hard to imagine that millions of people were dying from a simple lack of ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) just a couple hundred years ago. If evolution is true, then it took man billions of years to learn all these kindergarten lessons. And ironically, man has only learned these lessons in the past couple hundred years. You've got to be kidding me! Don't tell me that it took mankind BILLIONS of years to learn to wash his hands to prevent disease! The truth is that mankind has taken baby-steps since 4,000 B.C., and it did take him nearly 6,000 years to learn to wash his hands. This is just another undeniable PROOF that evolution is a lie. If mankind had evolved over millions of years, then men would have discovered these inventions a very long time ago.

The truth is that evolutionists are hardhearted against the truth of God's Word. The Word of God declares that God created the world at approximately 4,000 B.C.—YOU'D BE A FOOL NOT TO BELIEVE IT, BECAUSE THERE'S NO HISTORY PRIOR TO 4,000 B.C. As incredible as this fact is, it is undeniable proof against evolution.

Starting November 3rd, BET is airing a DJ reality show hosted by Just Blaze. It looks like it's the same basic protocol, they live in a house and compete against each other (mixing, scratching, & I think producing too). Style-wise it's a diverse group: Kid Scratch, DJ Revolution, this drum n bass chick...Anyway I think this could be good, I've been a fan of turntablism and such for a while. Anyone else gonna be watching?

BQ: Where is all the love for Pau Gasol? He has to have some fans. He was a very good player in Memphis, and now he is the best big man on the Lakers. Seems like everybody loves Kobe and gives him all the credit. Why cant Gasol get some love?
@ mr show time

I am not hating....but you are trolling :-) I love when ppl say I am hating when all I do is post stats, records, and numbers, etc...lol

I saw one today at my buddy's g-ma's house and had no clue how to get it to start. She laughed, I laughed, he laughed...she says that most young people don't know crap about what they used to have in those days. She's right.

Do I need some kind of different cable. I can watch a DVD but not watch or record to the video player. I've used the red, green, blue cable but it doesn't work and I've used the red, yellow, white cable but it won't work. Would using a HDMI or s-video cable work?

So I record movies off AMC and want to copy them to a DVD disc so I can take them to the gym and watch on my portable player. But when I try to do that it tells me the movie/recording is copy protected. I have a Toshiba recorder. Is there anyway around this?

I've installed 4 samsung surveillance's cameras. I've networked them to see live video from the shop while I'm at home through the internet. I have a simple player that will record 10 mins at a time. I need to record from the time I leave at night to when I get back the next morning. Don't have much money for further equipment. Is there free or cheap software or something I can get to record as much video as I need for when the shop is closed.
I would love to use the vcr for recording...I need to know how to do this from home, using a video capture card and a vcr? Help me please....

In my opinion,

Cavs 43-39
Lakers 50-32
Boston 27-45
Orlando 45-37
San Antonio 42-40
Denver 51-31
Atlanta 39-43
Detroit 26-46
Utah 44-38
New Orleans 19-53
Dallas 41-41
Philadelphia 36-46
Houston 52-30
Portland 49-33
Miami 17-65
Chicago 42-40
Sorry I meant star player.
Dude, I'm not biased. I only have one team, and that's the Warriors. Are they on this list?

And I put Boston that bad because without Garnett Boston would be back to what they were before because Ray Allen can't lead a team nearly as well as Garnett can.

I hope you understand.
Yeah, it wasn't really as accurate as it could be. I was just pretty much stating the record the team had before their star player came.

And Houston doesn't really have a star player so I didn't think it would change.

i have just bought an old telex record player but it has no needle. i have noticed that the one i need is an 89t but it is discontinued, does anyone know where i can find one or if i can use a different one?

My friend is making a Memory Box for her geriatric patients - things that will get them talking about the past. She's already found an antique safety razor, an old metal cigarette case, an antique wooden clothespin, and a miniature antique gumball machine. What are some other ideas, without getting too expensive? I was thinking of a record (like for a record player), maybe a hat pin or a diaper pin...

Thanks!

I want to record live tv shows. I use windows media player. Or have got any software that can record live shows. Thank you.

I want to know if there is any brand of DVD Home player which can support an FLV files recorded in a disk with no need to convert them to avi, xvid, etc.
This would be helpful to me because I have a lot of FLV files in my computer and I want to record them all in disks to make free memory space in my harddisk.

I'm talking about any Red-Yellow-White using video game console? For example: Sness, N64, PS, PS2, Gamecube or Xbox? I'd love to play the games and put select footage from obscure games online.

-ability to use it like a usb flash drive
-ability to browse the internet with it
-play audio and video files
-camera and video recording
-has a microphone
-ability to video chat using skype
-fm radio
-ability to play lots of games on it

basically, I'm looking for something like an iphone 4 minus the phone subscription requirement, with usb flash drive capability, and fm radio (for when I'm not connected to the internet and don't want to listen to my music library)

With the worst record in the majors, the Royals had won just two games on the road all season.
• At 10-35, the Royals had their worst record after 45 games and fourth-worst in major league history, trailing only the 1932 Boston Red Sox, 1988 Baltimore Orioles and 2003 Detroit Tigers, who were all 9-36 after 45 games.

im trying to find the insert that will allow me to take the lead guitar and make it an octave higher digitally.
